Can you believe we're due to get a hard frost tonight here in WI?!?!?!?!? Calling for 30 degrees as the low...so I've covered up as much as I can of plants/veggie garden but DANG! it's mid-May. WTF.... I'm still not committed to doing a tri on June 6...at this rate the water temp will be only 50. brrrrrr Awe, that just sucks, I will send you some of my heat. |

Champion 6225 | Subject: RE: GIRLS TEAM THREAD May Swim Challenge did my first sprint tri today. happy to report that i beat the 16 yr old boy that was assigned to my lane by 50 yards!!!! LOL. a most splendid day all around, w all the trimmings....cold temps, high winds, numb legs and feet, and fine finish (no hardware to speak of, but still a fine finish...) do i get xtra swimming points for swimming in an outdoor pools w the temps in the 40s and high winds?? guess not, huh? that would be an OWS..... ah well. at least i beat a boy. Not that I had my best performances, just Ok in the swim, much better on the bike and decent on the run, plenty to improve upon! Always!! I learned a lot and can't wait to do another! There were 350 racers, so it was a full race and that made it even more fun, and oh yea, I got 3rd in my age group! Hardware! Waiting for final results before I do the race report. Hubby and I are in "Panic Mode" as my parents booked flights to come see us in July so I decided to stay homish (I did run with the dog) and help out with some house things. Sure it's 8 weeks away but we have LOTS to do.
Will try again tomorrow.
Oh and I GOT A JOB!!!! Permanent JOB! I am super, super happy |

I was in a sleeveless suit and couldn't feel my arms for the first half of the swim. Crazy cold. There was some silly boy - must have been about 16 or 17 - who did the swim sans wetsuit. Ahhhh....to be young and stupid. Anyhow...congrats on a great race! |
