speaking of F and C. Last few days have been HOT up here. Yesterday we hit almost 80 degrees in April!! little cooler today with a high of 73. And then of course a big cool down for the weekend.

Heres my RR: I ran 10k. Relatively fast for me. Gun time was 52:58. Chip time would have been 10 or sec faster. Yes this year is not all about IM like it was last year, but hard to write a RR for a 10k.... I just ran.

Linda - what you think of Atlantis? We are thinking of heading down there.

So I rode just under 90 miles in 4.5 hours sunday. Keep 20 mph for 4 hours and only really lost it the last 30 minutes. Yesterday was a rest day and I was sore. Not as bad as the previous monday, but I had tightness and the occasional cramp. I did hydrate and take in electrolytes so I am getting better at it.

This AM was a short run and my right hamstring was TIGHT! Anyone got any good hamstring stretches?

STut - 2012-04-22 9:03 PM Alright, so I finished top 10 in the AG for the Seal Beach 5K.  I was a bit surprised because I wasn't really pushing.  I ran a pretty causal 7:07 pace just running with a couple friends from my club.  Lesson learned.

Very impressive CASUAL pace.

YOGA, works for me.  Where is the tightness? muscle belly or attachment? it matters.

Wow!  I've been trying to get caught up.  I went camping over the weekend and had a really nice 4 hr hike on Saturday.  I was a little sore after the hike--different muscles being used.  On Sunday, I realized that I have double booked myself for next weekend.  I'm supposed to be at both a swim clinic and a trail half marathon this Saturday morning.  I'm registered for both and they are both paid for.  Ugh.  I'm trying to see if I can show up at the race late and still run.  It has a marathon and 36 mi. ultra option, so there will still be plenty of people around and on the course.  The race director was cool with it, he just needs to check and see if the timing people can work with me.  So many races, so little time Cool

P.S.  I bought a new pair of shoes for the long trail runs:  Cascadia 7

I've been reading about some stellar MG performances!!  Very impressive Suzy, Kevin, Deb, Scott, Chet, & Trevor.  I hope I didn't miss anyone.

Linda - what you think of Atlantis? We are thinking of heading down there.

Overall, it was a fun place.  They do nickel/dime you for everything, and that adds up.  They add $10 every night for service fees, plus several different taxes - added about $50 to each night.  Plus they add 20% (I think) to each bar/food tab.  It's very, very big - lots of stuff to do, especially for kids.  The wildlife - sharks, rays, eels, swordfish, jellyfish - was everywhere, and displayed beautifully.  Lots of glass tunnels and viewing windows.  There were some water slides for the the little guys, but most required a 48" minimum.  I recommend Dolphin Cay, that was fun, and different.  Jeff said the golf was amazing, and I loved the spa.

The yachts right in front were amazing, just fun to look at.  We saw Dennis Rodman on Madonna's yacht.  ugh.

Long flights - plan that carefully with little ones.  Going out it was 3:20 from Boston to Ft. Lauderdale, then 45 minutes to Nassau.  Coming back, it was 2:20 from Nassau to Philly, then 6 hours back to SFO.

Any questions, just holler!

Muscle belly! I'll take good yoga positions for it any day.

Also, if you have a good stretch for a muscle belly in a quad, that would be much appreciated.  thanks.

Even though you didn't ask me I'll give you my $.02.  We took the Kiddos there about 5 years ago and they still talk about it all the time.  Atlantis this, Atlantis that.  But, I agree with Linda that they nickel and dime you for everything.  I think a hotdog for lunch was over $10.00 ala carte and a paper at your room everyday was $5.00, etc.!  Take your cash!  The boats were amazing.

My only other warning is that once you go you will never be able to go back to an ANY aquarium and enjoy yourself.  Nothing even comes close in comparison.

Enjoy......

Not a stretch, but I found by doing these hamstring bridges regularly, my legs stayed stronger on those long rides last summer. Now, I do them as part of my core routine...not real hard, but very effective!

FWIW: Today is day two of having limited myself to one diet Pepsi/day, that and strictly monitor my food consumption.

Hey Fatty, Harold is gonna be a volunteer at IMFL! He is in your neck of the woods. You two should hook up.

Where is everyone? I'm sitting at my internship without anything to do! I need amusement!

Here's a quick question. So I just finished my A race this Saturday and signed up for another Olympic distance in 6 weeks. How should I go about resuming my training? Should I just jump back into my peak volumes, rebuild slowly, or have a quick ramp-up? The race is on June 9th in Montauk, NY.

Also, Let's get some pictures of your guys stallions! (bikes). I want to see all of your chariots, I'll try to get a picture of mine later tonight.

thx for the Atlantis info. We have been chatting about taking the kiddo's down there. I want to go sans kids, so we'll see when/if that happens.

maybe we'll just hook with Kim and Kathy in Vegas instead!
