On the positive side of the ledger I felt great at spin class this morning! I crushed it!

My rant for the day...3 people who talk loudly NONSTOP through the spin class! Generally if you are working during the drills you probably don't want to talk. If you want to socialize, then go sit on the recumbent bikes and talk...

I can't stand those people.  There's a few in every class, and I spent almost as much effort trying to zone them out as I do in the actual class.  And then they whine about not losing weight, despite the fact that they haven't broken a sweat in the three years they've been coming to spin.

I also can't stand the Tuesday instructor.  Her gear counts are all over the place, and I can barely follow along, and I know she isn't following her own rules if she can talk and shout and sing during the whole class.  Her workouts are also full of crap like standing sprints at 110rpm, which is just stupid in my mind.  The real question, though, is why I bother to go on Tuesdays . . .

I rarely stand in spin class. Ignore her direction and do what works for you. Follow the basic class outline but adjust as necessary.

I probably should have written more concisely.  I'm the only real cyclist in the class, so if I can't keep up, nobody else can either.

I should probably replace Tuesdays with a long, slow z2 burn, but I really should do that on the bike trainer, which means I need to buy a bike trainer . . .

Back from the long weekend at the farm in East Texas. I changed my running route to a longer one that avoided the bad dog. Ran 8.2 miles, cut a lot of wood and had a recovery day. Also jumped into some Breckenridge Beers (IPA, Vanilla Porter) as well as a Scottish Porter.

Having eggs done in coconut oil (love that), avocado and cherry tomatoes after a 1:30 spin on the trainer.

I missed hearing from you guys over the weekend. My wife and I have agreed to reduce computer time for our kids at the farm and lead by example.

Keep strong as we get ready to round out January.

Wow - So bummed that the Ravens made it to the Superbowl...

Today I had a good ride on the trainer and also did my first Yoga workout with the help on a Yoga Iphone App... I have had some bad customer service at the place were I do Yoga ($15 for a session but it's a $20 charge to use your credit card - doesn't seem right), so I boycotted and did a session at home using an app on my iphone.  It was good - and I felt like I got a decent workout but does anyone have any good suggestions on where I could go to find other workouts?

I hope everyone keeps it up this week.  We started a month ago and almost everyone is still involved.  Let's be sure to keep supporting each other!

I am doing the P90x yoga tonight.  Hey we can do yoga at different places together!  There is a video on youtube...all the writing is in another language but it comes out in english.  I haven't tried it yet but my daughter does it and she really likes it.

Do you have a link to that?

I never really could get into using tapes although I did watch a couple of tv shows.

Could I ask, what do you get out of a class?

Lunch is made and packed for tomorrow!

Holy He77 Batman!  20x50, rpe of 9.  My body aches just thinking about this one.  Give that woman an IPA from Stone!

Well, I'll steal some of DQ's thunder here, I've known him long enough to know that he knows we've hit 1000 posts as a group.  Nice work beer drinkers.

Got in 21/30 today.  I pissed out on my alarm at 5:20, and promptly walked up to the couch and went back to sleep.  Shame, Shame.  Something about going out of doors in 8 degree weather before 6 am for a run, makes it an easy decison.

We had an am appointment at the doc's office and found out that we are having girl #3.  (when we get financially ahead, we will be purchasing stock in Disney princess, and kotex.)  We're due in June.  My opporation is tentatively scheduled for after marathon in May.

I was able to get the run in after the appointment by a stroke of good fortune as I found the motivation I lacked this morning.  8.25 miles in at 1:05:30.  7:56/mi pace.  Something about running when it's light out, and I've been up for hours.  These runs are only once in a few weeks, as all the other ones seem to be more like work, and way less fun.

Keep up the training BDAS.  Keep up the encouragement and get in your 30.  Then all the praises and Glory of the BDAS will fall upon you and the good beer of the land will flow like milk and honey.

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome.  Congrats on your pending new edition.  I run about 3.5 min/mile slower than you so am very inspired by your pacing. Great job and keep sharing.

Yep - 1000 posts!  Charles was the one who wrote the 1000th entry by the way!  For that, I think we should pledge to buy him the first round if we should ever meet.

Congrats BDAS!

Ahh - just for the record, a run from your bed to the couch doesn't count towards your 30/30Foot in mouth

Congrats on baby #3 - getting that run in is a good idea because you'll do a lot more running around when you go from man to man to zone (or with all the estrogen in your house - man to woman...).

It snowed last night in Boston - not a ton but enough to slow everyone down a bit.  As it turned out, I was the first one in the pool and I was almost able to convince myself that my 2:35/100 was fast.  Unfortunately - the next person in was this former college swimmer who is probably 2x as fast as me (but I could out drink her).

22/31 after today's swim... No coors light for me.  As a reward, I tried a new Rye beer from my friend's brewery.  Not bad. Anyone got a good rye of me to try?

Tomorrow I'm going to gingerly hop on the bike and try to get in 30 minutes plus, I might do some yoga in the morning.  Night!

Congrats on Girl #3, and good luck with the old chop-chop. I still remember asking my Mom why dad was sitting in the lazy boy all day with frozen peas in his lap!

Had my last Acupuncture session today, and all the pain seems to be pretty well gone. A little tightness that I may try to address with some Massage Therapy, Stretching and Yoga.

Looking forward to getting back out on the road and keeping the half-marathon training plan going. We are in a little cold snap here. -35C ...that is -31F for the south of the border brothers and sisters. So that is going to make for a refreshing return to the run!

OK - back from killer work travel and a great weekend skiing with the family up VT way.

So, given the prolific nature of this group (beer must do the same thing for posts that it does for conversation&hellip, I know have eleventy-three gazillion posts on which to catch up!

Been mostly running of late - bike in the shop for almost a month and a shoulder coming back from "improved form" (read as, a high elbow recovery is NOT always a good thing&hellip, but got back in the pool last night.  Felt great to be back in the water (if only for ~1000yds).

Well, off to catch up on the conversation!

Still faster than me - 3:00/100yds currently.  There's a couple of folks who swim around the time I do who just annhiliate me in the water.  Flip turns and dolphin kicks that push them halfway across the pool before they surface, and the dude's wearing the baggiest swim trunks on the planet, with a pudgy belly, and here I am in my Speedo jammers, swim cap, googles, trying my best to look the part.  /sigh

I'm mostly joking, of course, but it still feels lame.  I keep telling myself that, hey, I've only been swimming for three months, so of course I'm slow, but that competitiveness still flares up.

Got a run and row in this morning. Felt pretty good. Maybe a few days off every once and awhile is a good thing! Up to 21/31 for swim/bike/run or 24 if I include hockey games. I should be able to nail down 9 more workouts in 8 days. Will be home workouts as my wife is off to a kids fitness conference Thursday to Saturday so it is just me and the kids!

Have a great rest of the week everyone!
