kns57 - 2012-05-14 11:44 AM Quiet out here in Ghoulie Land.  Walked this morning, and that bothered my back.  I am bummed.  Found out a neighbor and friend have uterian cancer, so I am really bummed.  she sees the dr today to find out what the treatment will be.  I'll be visiting her tonight to find out.

Sorry to hear about your neighbor.

Take care of your back! Do you have any access to an inversion table? That may help you. Also, when you can, strengthen your core, strengthen your core, strengthen your core!

I have been working on strengthening the core for the past couple of years.  Guess I need a lot more strength in that area.

Good morning Ghoulies!

I'm working fom home today. My son was sick when he got home from school yesterday. He spent the entire evening curled up in a ball on a recliner. He has a fever, and he says his head hurts and he feels dizzy. He had a bit of a congested sounding cough last night, too. I'm most likely keeping him home today.

Hope that his sickness does not hang around as long as your daughters did.  How is she feeling by the way?

Morning Ann!

Hi Kendra!

It is a beautiful day here, too. We had some impressive storms last evening and now everything is bright new and shiny today.

Hi.

I had a job interview this afternoon. I think it went pretty well. I got 2 emails this afternoon, one asking me to fill out a bunch of info so they can continue with the hiring process, the other is for my security clearance.

I'm not sure I am going to take it yet, they will have to make me an offer I can't refuse. It is just very difficult for me to work 4' from someone who 6 months ago was my best friend, now she barely acknowledges my existence.

I thought when you switched to this new job things were going to be better.  Bummer that it hasn't all worked out.  Grown-ups need to stop acting like children or worse.

She's not vomiting anymore, but she still complains of some stomach pain from time to time.

I know. It is SO INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING! We have been through a lot together. It is killing me that she won't talk to me, so I can't be there if that's how she's going to be. The new job would be 2 buildings down, where I used to work. I'd be responsible for Research & Development for the applications that the entire DoD used. I get access to all of the software in the DoD and I have to come up with best business practices for installation, and troubleshooting guides. It's a big job. When they asked how much money I wanted I went high and they didn't bat an eyelid. Now I wish I'd have gone higher. I would prefer to stay where I'm at though, my boss has been very generous with allowing me to make my own schedule, and except for her not talking to me, I like the people there.

Sounds like an awesome opportunity.  Kind of funny how you try to find a new job for a long period of time and then they all start dropping in your lap at roughly the same time.  Hubby had to make a decision between three opportunities when he swapped jobs a couple of months ago.  The one he was really interested in was not far enough along in the process and he had to make a decision, so he went with Emory.  I'm hoping that it will work out good for him in the long run.

My friend has Uterine Carcinosarcoma.  We won't know what stage she is in until they do the surgery, but the surgery is not scheduled for 6 weeks.  They tell her it is rare and aggressive, but I can't figure out why they would wait 6 weeks for the surgery if it is considered aggressive.  My other neighbor, who is a ovarian cancer survivor, and myself were over visiting with her last night.  We have both encouraged her to go and get a second opinion.  Both of us, when our cancers were diagnosed, the doctors moved quickly, so we are baffled.  But then again, we said that since they aren't moving quickly then that could be a positive sign that they don't think it is that far along.  But then again, after the D&C where they discovered the polyp, they told her that they were 99.9% sure it was not cancerous, so right now she does not have a lot of faith in what they are telling her.

Please add her to your prayer lists.  (Joyce in Georgia)

On a brighter note, had another decompression treatment yesterday, and this morning I am feeling pretty good.  I'm staying hopefull that this treatment will work and I'll be back to running (and core strengthing) soon.

Prayers added! I hope she goes for a second opinion ASAP, or at least as the docs what is the purpose of the wait. There may (or may not) be a good reason.

That seems so odd that she won't even explain herself. People change, it is okay to move on. It is not okay to act like a 2ng grader in doing so. However, that potential job sounds awesome.

What she told us was that the scdeduled surgery was set up based upon the availability of the surgeon.  You and I know there are other surgeons out there, so yeah, I hope she goes for a second opinion.

Um... yeah. Even if it isn't aggressive, I'd want to nip it in the bud and get rid of it instead of taking a chance like that. A lot can happen in 6 weeks. I hope she gets treatment sooner.

Good Morning Ghoulies!

I am back from my long weekend away in Eastern Washington.  Had a GREAT time!

The race went well.  Weather was perfect.  The hills were long, but I am pleased with my time.  I averaged 11'57" per mile even with the hills, so that is great.

Going over the top of Grand Coulee Dam was really neat.  They weren't spilling water, but it was still amazing!  Beautiful area!

Had a really good time with my friend, too.  We spent the rest of the long weekend at her place.  She has horses, so we went on a horseback ride on Sunday.  Beautiful views out over the valley, just so gorgeous!

Now we are home again, and boy, are our dogs glad to see us!

Hey Ghoulies. We are having another rip snorting thunderstorm this afternoon. The kind with the giant claps of thunder that go rolling on and on and on. I am glad I got my run in... inside!

Hi guys. Sorry I've been MIA. Again. This time of year gets so busy in my neck of the woods. I'm doing the single mom thing again, too. I am doing the bike leg of an Oly Tri Relay this saturday. I'll be driving 5 hours each way, pulling the travel trailer with hubby's new truck. I haven't towed the trailer for almost two years. And I won't have a backup driver. And I'm taking the kids with me. And hoping the trailer doesn't get too small for them while I am racing.
