I forgot to tell you...

On the way to basketball practice Tuesday night, Keri and I had a talk. I had spent some time doing some research on diet and exercise. Keri doesn't do dairy. She'll eat ice cream, and frozen yogurt, but that's it. No milk. No cheese. No yogurt. I can, from time to time, get her to drink some hot cocoa I make with milk, I made her some last night. Anyway, we talked about changing her diet, and once she is medically cleared, we are going to make her strong(er, she's already pretty strong). I did pick up some Flintstone's vitamins that have added calcium and vitamin D.

When we got to practice, she was talking to all the kids, and her coaches and I started talking. Both of them had been thinking about Keri, and said that we need to make Keri strong. Both of them being physical therapist, they have some exercises they want me to do with her. One of them is moving into a new house about 2 miles away from us. Where I live 2 miles is nothing, Keri and I run to where their new house is in the summer. She wants to work with Keri to help build up her strength. Bone grows according to the stress placed on it. Even just doing weight bearing exercises like wall push-ups and things like that should help. Keri likes working out, so this shouldn't be a problem.

Ann, sounds like a plan with Keri. You can't go wrong with paying attention to diet and exercise. Starting at her young age will prevent the problems many of us have had all our lives.

Caleb and I just had a conversation via text messaging while he was waiting for the bus discussing whether or not zombies have emotions.

They seem mad, but then they hungry. I get mad when I am hungry. But if they are just hungry, are they really mad?

Do they have "emotional eating" hunger? My head is spinning.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Caleb told me he didn't have to outrun the zombies, he only had to trip me. That set off a bunch of texts. Then I suggested we trip up a pile of people in a populated area, saving ourselves but sacrificing them. He thought that would make them mad, and then they would chase us. I don't know if they get mad. He thought they might have egos, since they aren't really team players. I didn't have an argument for that.

I think if they are just emotional eating they aren't really mad, they just need to sit down and and work out their emotional issues.

I don't know if they can work out their emotional issues. One giant one is that they are dead. (or close to it, being un-dead and all). I mean, how can you not be a little pizzed off when you are dead and only eat brains now instead of pizza. What if, like Jim, you were a vegetarian and now are eating things that go against your former morals. That would hang you up a bit. Also, I don't think the zombies would be mad if you tripped a pile of people. Coming across a smorgasbord of food would be the only thing they noticed.

It has been a while since I have had a "stupid people" day. I guess I was due.

Glad to see Frank's surgery went well.

I need to vent.

1) My mother still has not called, texted, emailed, nothing, to see how Keri is. She was at the game where Keri got hurt. Wouldn't you think she'd want to know how her granddaughter is?

2) I've about had it with my sister, too.

     a) Her daughter's birthday is Dec 12, she has been very adamant that her birthday, and Christmas be celebrated separately. No combining Christmas and the birthday.  Today I got a box from her that had my Christmas gift, and my birthday gift in. Nothing was wrapped. No card. Just some stuff.

     b) For years now she has always asked what I want for Christmas or my birthday. I sent her 12 links for Christmas, 9 for my birthday this year, I got nothing from either list. I know it is supposed to be the thought that counts, but it doesn't seem like there is a whole lot of thought. In the past she asks what I want, I tell her, she says "I'll have to ask Todd" that's her husband. He doesn't know me. He doesn't know what I like. Why does she have to ask him? One of the things she got me I already have, it is a dock for charging multiple USB devices. I like the one I have. I don't need another one. I didn't ask for another one. It will sit in the box, unless any of you need a charging dock. 

It's just frustrating. I want so bad to be part of a normal family, and in a normal relationship, and that just ain't neeeeeever gonna happen.

As I was lying in bed awake at 2:30 this morning I couldn't remember what day of the week it was. I was really hoping it was Saturday, I was fearing it was Friday. My fear came to fruition.

I am back at my treadmill desk. Just standing here, but still. It is the first time since surgery I can stand for long periods of time. My back is grumpy about it. It is going to have to suck it up.

But better than Monday! or even Thursday.

I have to go to Charlotte for a wedding today. But first, I have to make food to take to said wedding. Needless to say, it is a small wedding. This is good, hopefully we will be home before midnight!

Should we have a rod trip to go roust Dee?

I think we may have to!

Hi Ghoulies!  I am back to ghoulieville and am fine.  Between busy schedule and computer issues, I have not been here or on facebook much.  I will try to get caught up on the happenings soon.  Right now I have to shower and then fix some goodies for a superbowl party. 

Hope all is well with each of you.  I thought about you often even if I didn't get online!

Who ya rooting for?

I was not really rooting for either team or I was rooting for both.  I don't follow football, but I enjoy going over with the group.  Normally I have fun playing cards with some of them in the next room.  This year, since Seattle Seahawks were in the game, most of the group watched the game.  So the card games were pretty minimal.  The football game was so lopsided that it didn't seem too interesting to me.  Ah well, the food was good. 

DH is from Colorado, so he would have liked the Broncos to win, but they were just awful.  At least it is done for another year!

So much happened in the village!  It is great that Katie dropped in. Hope she does again.

I saw a pic of Keri and her cast on FB.  Ouch!  It sounds like she would be a good coach though. 

I am glad that Frank's surgery went well.  Good Ghoulie vibes for a quick recovery.

Hope the foot continues to progress, Robin!

I did so-so on the January AB challenge.  I probably made it about 2/3 of the way through, but then I couldn't log it.  But I think that I will continue some form of it in February.

I am WFH again today, I may not get in the office again this week. Calling for LOTS of snow today, snow and ice on Tuesday into Wednesday, then snow again over the weekend. Just got the message that school is closed. Supposed to have the appointment with the pediatric ortho for Keri this afternoon, but I don't think we'll get there. 

Caleb had his best basketball game ever yesterday. He racked up 8 points, including a 3 pointer. He probably pulled down that many rebounds, too. He also broke up a couple of plays, and stole the ball twice. He was all smiles after the game.

Keri's team lost a close on on Saturday. They won be A LOT yesterday.
