Big Appa - 2011-01-31 10:24 PM I feel old today after playing basketball yesterday. My finger, ankle, and back hurt but I did have fun

I need a GOOD reason to be feeling old ... piglet hunting ...

there was a beautiful and I mean young breathtaking built one at a party last night, a halfsie too, and he even pulled his chair up next to me so we could chat, and fercryinoutloud i SANG for him ... but I just couldn't push out of the black cloud. I could still call him, but ...

Did you sing Bali Hai?  No black clouds please.  Call me instead, an old piglet would make you feel young by comparison.

MORNING TAN

First one here I see. Well at a reasonable time anyways.

I am in the middle of preparing for SNOWMAGDON. I love how its a big production for a snow storm now a days. I mean I live in Canada and its just nuts that everyone freaks out out a snowfall from the Media side of things.

The MEDIA is horrible I tell you.

What is everyone elses thoughts on how the Media hypes this stuff up now.

``The National Weather Service continues to describe the storm as "potentially life-threatening" for those who might get caught outside and advised that final preparations for it should be completed this morning.''

Don't shoot the messenger. The National Weather Service is saying this could be the worst storm in a decade, not the media.

Just a month or so ago we had a snow storm in London Ontario (hit there the worst) that is about 50-60 mins up the road from me. They called for a snow storm and they got between 42-48 inches depending on where you were located.

That is a SNOW STORM yet it was not toted as potentially life threatening. I just don't get it. According to where I am at we can see between 4-8 inches heck even if it s 12 inches. I am not sure why they are hyping this one up. My thought is they just missed the opportunity on the huge storm we had.

Then next one we had there was 24-36 inches and MASSIVE blowing Shut down a major highway and trapped motorists in vehicles for over 48 hours. That was also 50 mins from where I live.  Again it didn't get as much hype.

Now in the US just below where I live they are going to get 6-12 inches and the world may end as we know it. Pull out a snow shovel and put on a toque. That is all I am saying.

If it snowed two inches in Miami what do you think would happen?

It's all about perspective.

Do you have an air conditioner to cool your house in the summer?

Yes I do. I live in Ontario where it gets to -20 degrees C in the winter and 38 degrees C  (-4 F to 100 F ) with high humidty in the summer. The best part about living around the great lakes is you get he benifit of it all. And the most variation in temperature. I guess because it swings so much and we see both aspects it just seems NORMAL to me.

As I kid we used to kill for all this snow to go sledding. We no longer get the same amount of snow we used to.
