TriAya - 2012-08-09 9:17 AM I am an expert on everything about everything, except for yesterday, 08 August 2012, at 3:17am GMT +8.

I was there, and still feeling the aftershocks of that moment.

Salty has memorialized it in her sig line.

It made me question everything that I thought I knew/believed in.  Shook me to the core.

????

Yesterday, in TAN, I actually wrote:

"I don't know."

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

You are an expert on taking the trash out. And other domestic things since you are a woman.

that's not helpful.  pittzie had a close call on his bike?  there was a small earthquake?  neither of these things seem THAT significant (sorry pittzie, but it happens to all of us, you know?)

There actually was a small earthquake here today. I'm not sure when. The dogs didn't even bother barking. I thought they were supposed to have some kind of precognition about such things?

Marilyn said something in another thread that struck me and explains everything...  The Mayans had it right.

I think all the put downs and arguements are attempts to have the last word and "win" on the internet before the end of the world...  We only have a little more time to be "right" and everyone else to be "wrong".  Maybe hedging our bets into the afterlife?

Ignorance is my main strength.  So, the earthquake was a delayed reaction?

I imagine so. After all, I went to sleep shortly after I made That Post and didn't wake up until the 'quake.

There was just one in Alaska, too.

Teejaay - 2012-08-09 10:18 AM So BT caused the earthquake? Or the Mayans? I'm so confused.

My fat butt after I ate last night did it....

I made turkey chili that was SO yummy, I ended up eating way too much and blew my calorie count for the day...

Sounds like maybe it wasn't only the calorie count that was blowing if an earthquake resulted ...

Did some research and mostly all good reviews of the all-inclusive resort and area.

Well it is right on top of the airport and the planes literally alomost crash into your hut.  It is so loud that is it scary!!  Goes on all night long......

The rooms are nice, but air sucks, room was hot and sticky and lots of bugs.

Leaving that resort is dangerous, and terribly poor and sad to see. And yards away from you on the beach, small children practically starving while you are on a lux vacation.

all the events, well people book weeks in advance (so do that), which we did not know so we were eating dinner at 10PM and did NOT get to do a lot of the activites we wanted to.

AND if you are going in hurricane season, expect the power to shut off everyday for a coupl eof hours......I am hoping we were there on a WRONG week, but it never really even stormed hard?

Ok on the up side they serve some pretty taste cocktails that I like cause they are NOT very strong!  Jamaican-me-smile was my favorite.

Cool thanks for the tips!
I live in the air capital of the world and work across the street from an air force base - loud planes to not bother me
Sticky and bugs can get uncomf... so bug spray?

Didn't plan on leaving the resort except to explore the "Hip Strip" I'm reading about - tourist area that is police patroled, they say not to go outside of that area - which is right next to the resort. I will keep researching though.

Good to know to book the excursions early - need to look into those. Any you recommend? I read about a jungle one.

Going at the end of October - could rain, could be beautiful. Either way I will be out of Kansas...

We did find a car service to take us to Dunn's River one day, but the ride was a tad bit shadey and double what they quoted but that was A LOT of fun.
