Hope all is well with each of you.  I thought about you often even if I didn't get online!

Welcome back, Dee!!!

Morning Ghoulies!

Dang Ann, that is a lot of snow. I hope your kids aren't in school until August at this rate!

Dee, I am the same way about football. I don't follow it at all. I was severely chastised when I didn't know that the Panthers were close to being in the bowl. I usually only watch the commercials during the game. It was fun watching the faces of my friends who were all Broncos fans.

I did okay during the abs challenge but I need to keep on going with it. I think I'll start again today.

We've already gotten about 4" of snow and it is still coming down. Last Monday when Keri and I were home, after we went to lunch we went out and bought a new bird feeder. I was outside a few minutes ago to clear the snow from the bottom part so the birds can get to the seeds. There was a little finch out there pecking at the part that holds the seed, he couldn't get underneath the snow for his breakfast. We have some suet feeders out, too, those had plenty of visitors this morning. It's been a cold, wet winter, I told the kiddos we need to make sure we keep the bird feeders full.

I was cheering for the Broncos

I did bad at the AB challenge, too. I started off well, but only made it until about midway through the month.

Good morning Ghoulies!

The weather that you are having back there is just unbelievable.  Stay safe!

We have had a cold winter but quite dry for us.  Even though it has been so cold we still have a few hummingbirds hanging around, so I am still filling the feeder.

It is 62 degrees and sunny (for a little while). I opened the doors and a couple of windows! OUT WITH THE BAD!

It is not 62 here. We probably have 7-8" of snow already. I called to reschedule Keri's ortho appointment.

Sledding at 2:00. Dress warm, and bring dry clothes to change into.

Good morning Ghoulies!

I am WFH again today. Most likely I won't even make it into the office this week.

This evening they are calling for more snow, into tomorrow morning, followed by up to half an inch of ice. Don't drive in that.

This weekend we could get a significant storm. I thought the 10" we got yesterday was pretty significant, but they are saying the weekend's storm could be measured in FEET. Send provisions!

I'm going grocery shopping Friday morning. The grocery store is probably going to be a madhouse.

HOLY MOLY!  Go early to the store. It will be brutal. Your sledding yesterday sounded like tons of fun. Who did you hit with a snowball?

Sorry, I didn't throw any snowballs yesterday. I even warned the kiddos before we went up on the hill that Keri was off limits. She doesn't throw them, she really doesn't like getting hit with them. She couldn't throw them right now if she wanted to, and I didn't want her getting knocked down.

One of the great-nephews, who can be a giant PITA anyway did not listen. He pelted her with them. I was ticked off.

After I told him to knock it off he tackled his sister and stuffed snow down the back of her coat, and rubbed snow in her face. His dad then talked him, stuffed snow down his coat, and rubbed snow in his face. Then he told him to leave the girls alone. He's 12, he knows better.

I am against home-schooling, for many reasons, but one of them is lack of socialization. This kid is home-schooled. He does not play well with others.

I had about a dozen chickadees out at the bird feeders this morning, and a bird of unknown origin.

I had a post with 2 suet feeders too close to the driveway, and it got knocked down yesterday. I'm going to try and salvage it this afternoon. With the cold, snowy winter we've had, I most definitely want to keep the feeders up for the birds.

I may take some corn and apples back to the woods this week, if I can get a 4-wheeler out of the barn, for the other critters that may need a snack.

I love feeding the birds! I can watch them at the feeders for hours. Unfortunately, around here the racoons, possums and sometimes even the bears get into the feeders. They become a problem and people complain then the animal must die. So I don't put feeders out. (except humming bird feeders in the summer). I try to have lots of fruit, seed and berry plants around.

A fun thing is to put peanut butter or bacon grease on a pine cone and hang them from branches. The fats work like suet.

We've made the bird feeders where you roll the pine cone in PB and then coat it in bird seed. There is probably birdseed in the nooks and crannies in my kitchen.

It is indeed messy. the year I did it, my dining room smelled of peanut butter and there was bird seed EVERYWHERE.

Good Morning!

Stay warm everyone!  We are also just entering a freezing spell.  I hope my winter hummingbirds survive!  I still see a little activity from them at the feeder, but temperatures in the 20s have got to be brutal on them.

Ann- stay safe.  Get Keri to either drink the milk, or eat the cheese, vitamin alone won't help.  And to absorb the calcium, you do need to take the vitamin D.  Yeah for Caleb's high scoring basketball game, boo to the nephew who won't listen and beats up on the girls, yeah to his dad for giving him the same treatment.

Robin - glad you can stand at your treadmill desk.  Soon you'll be moving on it.  Darn you have a lot of wildlife but then having seen where you live that is no surprise.

Dee - glad that you are finding some time to get on the a computer.  Hope that your computer woes are behind you soon.

Ab's challenge - I did pretty good up until that last week.  My abs are definitely stronger for it.  Now to just keep it up on a regular basis.

Frank is doing well.  I am back at work for the first time.  Have someone stopping by the house around lunch today and again tomorrow.  Then our son said he would telecommute from our house on Thursday.  Friday i will just put in a short day.  Next week Frank should be completely fine at home.

So I took Keri to see the pediatric ortho today. They x-rayed her arm. He said it looked GREAT! Her cast is coming off next Thursday, after only 18 days. He said she can wear a splint for a few days, if she wants, and he didn't see any reason why she couldn't play in the last 2 weeks of basketball season. I don't think I've ever seen her so happy!

Good morning Ghoulies!

No school again today. We didn't get any snow overnight, all ice. This is 2 days now that they will have to tack on to the end of the school year. This is affecting our vacation plans. We were going to leave the day after the last day of school. Now the kiddos would miss 2 days of school. Not really a big deal, they don't do much then anyway. The problem is, it is only the beginning of February. This is also supposed to be the weather pattern for the rest of the month, and into the beginning of March, so there could be more missed school. Time for plan B.
