Rynamite - 2008-07-31 2:00 PM I can't wait til the local microbrewery has their Octoberfest on tap. It's amazing.

I can't wait till our local does their Whiskey Stout. Now that is some good stuff right there.

That sounds yummers.

bcart1991 - 2008-07-31 1:57 PM Wild Turkey is pretty good. I can handle Southern Comfort for a little while. The things I did to my body in college...

When I was in college I worked at a bar.  There was a night when it was super slow - so me and my bouncer and my bar back decided to play grossest shot.  Basically, you went in turns and the other two had to drink the shot you made up.  The bar back stuck a bottle of Wild Turkey in the sink of hot water to warm up the booze - then he poured it.  i almost threw up on the spot.

'Drite?

No - this was The College Street Club in Iowa City.  I was a student at the time.

Either last year, or the year before, it was 10.2.  So strong you had to drink it in a snifter instead of a mug.

What exactly is a yambag? I mean, is it a real word? I know to what Scout is referring, but I've never heard it called such a thing. Funny.

It sounds fine.  It does not sound "yummers", however.  Most of us are over the age of 5, so we can all talk like adults, I hope.  Didn't have this discussion a few days ago?

Christ in a race car.  When did Rachael Ray take over the English language....  Making us all sound like moronic children.  No wonder the world hates us.  We butcher their food and drink, and then we can barely communicate coherently.

SA makes a stronger one.  Closer to 22%.  But they say it is more of a "distilled" beer than a fermented one.  Kind of walks a fine line.  But they use some kind of "super yeast" (their words, not mine) that is much, MUCH more resistant to alcohol than the normal stuff.

Oh, can we just give a shout out for Blueberry Beer, and Pumpkin Beer? Holy carp, those are yummy. Esp. blueberry beer with a whole pile of Maine blueberries floating in the glass.

Clearly, these are New England occurrences. Though Dogfishhead makes the best pumpkin ale I've ever had.

I have a love/hate relationship with pumpkin beer. I love pumpkin and it seems like a good idea, but I've never had one I like.

Have you had the Dogfishhead one? It's super-tasty.

I don't think so.  I'll have to give it a try this year.  I had Buffalo Bill's and it was terrible.  Post Road Pumpkin is better, but still not very good.

Like Schwammy said, some smell great and have no taste. This one tastes as good as it smells...

As in anywhere in Boston proper/Cambridge? I lived there for 5 years, I may be able to help.  Chad, too.

But if we're talking like Natick - can't help ya.
