But usually the grocery store zucchini don't have that cuz they cut them really short and probably strip off the prickles. Same with pumpkins. Like the ones on cucumbers, right? |

Maybe its the type of zucchini that we grow.. we get some spines on the fruit.. but not nearly as many as there are near the vine.. Some varieties of cucumbers are spineless, but when i was growing up we only grew the spiky ones. Makes me wish i had set things up for container gardening... bah. |
