Sharkie - 2009-05-15 4:02 PM So I had an asthma attack about an hour ago..  Dentist doesn't want to see me since I'm still struggling to breathe...

Is it a check-up or something important?

my oldest is so incredibly whiny after school that sometimes I want (but refrain) to punch him.

Benadryl and duct tape.

heavens no... he gets worked up by benadryl... bad option unfortunately.

That leaves whiskey.

(i have that same problem with Benadryl. It's like i'm trying to get out of my skin.)

Sharkie - 2009-05-15 3:43 PM Did my thread get yanked??

The name change thread? No, it's still there. Can't imagine why it would be yanked. It's not inappropriate, I don't think.

No my Cuchini thread....

wait... what exactly were you doing with zucchini that got something yanked?

Never a zucchini..  they have spiney prickly parts...
The zucchini at my grocery store don't. Hmmm.

Ok I confess I've never bought zucchini in my life...  I end up with about 100 pounds a year from the garden and it comes out of the garden that way...
Sharkie is right. The part around the stem is kinda spiny. But usually the grocery store zucchini don't have that cuz they cut them really short and probably strip off the prickles. Same with pumpkins. My dad's mom used to grow zucchini.

Try a different variety? The ones from my grocery store don't even have places where there used to be spines.

it's not like a cactus spine.. it's more like pokey stubble.. like you haven't shaved your legs in 4 or 5 days only sharper...  and they are really really thin fine spines.. like little hairs..

i think i know what you're talking about. Like the ones on cucumbers, right?

Alright... any ladies still in the house?  My special lady friend (GF) and I are coming up on out 2 year anniversary.  I've already gotten us tickets to Wicked... what else should I get her?

Still here. That's a good gift. Add a nice dinner beforehand? That'd be enough for me

I didn't know Cucs had spines...  Maybe its the type of zucchini that we grow.. we get some spines on the fruit..  but not nearly as many as there are near the vine..

Some varieties of cucumbers are spineless, but when i was growing up we only grew the spiky ones.

Makes me wish i had set things up for container gardening... bah.
