People be calm in TAN? I thought we were meant to overreact to things like banning of talking about food.

Eeh. TAN seems to be going through a growing pain or phase or something. People be jumpy, including me. Yesterday I was just chiming in on the mashed pertater talk and got singled out and blasted. Not what I love about TAN.

I didn't single you out I made a coment to Cheri about Pinterest. Not about food.

Who had commented on my comment. The implications were that the recipe/food talk was not welcome. I thought all was welcome in TAN.

If I made a comment like that about every TAN post I didn't like or didn't care about, we'd have 10x as many TANs.

Whatever.

I don't like that post!

I propose we create a TAN board that does a little floccinaucinihilipilification on each and every post prior to post.

HOLY CRAP, I never thought I could actaully use that new word!  Booyah for me!

Love this commercial.

I saw that last night and really liked it.  Thought about using the line in my quotes...

I got to admit, there is a lot I don't like about Nike, but they are FANTASTIC at marketing and inspirational commercials.

They better not!  Let me at'em...

I used to just eat mashed taters for dinner - that's it.

BUT, too much starch and carbs/cals to do that these days.

Woo-hoo!

After not doing any racing since DNF'ing Superfrog HIM on 9/11/2011, I just registered for a 2.4 Mile OWS (TikiSwim) and my 2nd try at an HIM (Oceanside 70.3).

Also, I lost 12 lbs last month.

Just wanted to share...

That is all...

Carry on.

Oh, and going back to the cauliflower "mash spuds" compaired to the real one?  Blasphomy...

BUT, I like Lisa's idea of going halvsies.  That may be a bit more tolerable.

I had some cauliflower mashed potatoes last week at a restaurant.  They were excellent but they had a ton of butter, cream, and some Benton's bacon.  Ground shoe leather would have tasted good.  I think the chef may gotten the memo about cutting back on carbs but totally blew it on the fat.

I actually have an aversion for healthy versions that are made to taste like something that is good  but unhealthy. The healthy imitation version is always unsatisfying.  You need fats, carbs, and salt.  Putting them in perfect proportion in a dish makes it what is.  So don't change the proportions or ingredients, just limit the portion.  Make sure that each meal is the right total  balance of carbs, proteins, and fats that your body needs.

Speaking of which, I am 4 lbs up on my normal weight.  I am going have to put my advice into practice.   I am always thankful that I have maintained enough of the engine that it is not too hard to lose weight.  Jim, I will be on the 1600-1800 cal/day diet and getting my running in.
