So I need to take two more classes before I think my committee will consent to letting me go ABD.  I was going to take one next summer, but summer is so variable that I don't want to have to depend on it.  The thing is, there's nothing particularly interesting that I want to take.  So right now I am just hoping that after months of looking, something exciting is going to pop out of the course catalog this morning.

You mean... OTHER than hitting 4K?

Well, I start a half-marathon plan today... it says run 7 miles... but I might just do five... we'll see how I feel this afternoon.

Oh... and my bishop asked me to review some liturgical rites for one of the new pastoral care supplements for the new Lutheran hymnal...

Does it need to be in a certain discipline or field or can it be any class (save basketweaving, which is clearly reserved for the athletes)?

It needs to fall into my related courses category.  Somehow I don't think that my PhD committee would let me count basketweaving.  Which really is too bad.

Oh sorry.  Environmental Science specially soil, water, ag systems, modeling, etc.  I was thinking about "Aquatic Ecology" but I'm not sure if that's too much of a stretch.  My current related courses include things like field experiment statistics, fluid dynamics, advanced soil physics, things of that nature.

Is there any new PIV coursework to look at?  As I understand it, the field is growing by leaps and bounds in what PIV can show in fluid dynamics, no?
