help me with my question people!

I can see it both ways.

On the one hand, sometimes it sucks to get presents early.  But, if she gets it early, she'll have more chance to use it with you and that will be exciting.

Personally, I would give it to her early and try to make it special and make a big deal out of it.  If you can, have another small thing for her to open on her birthday.

This. And even when I was a kid I loved early birthday presents!

Don't forget to give your son a little something too, to open on both occasions. Something as simple as a cool eraser is fine ... just something for him, too.

My mom has said that when we kids were growing up (I have 3 brothers, all of us close in age), she had to buy gifts for ALL of us on any birthdays, otherwise there'd be tears for sure...

What? Why would the other kid(s) get presents? It's not THEIR special day... isn't that the whole point of it being that person's special day?

You people are strange

Lisa, Lisa, I thought you would have been more observant and figured this out a long time ago ...

Well, as for the principle ... here's an experiment. Make sure your dogs are with you. Now, only give ONE a treat.

I wanted to drop my HR and MPH lap data from the crit the other night into a post into the Peleton Forum so that those that don't know what it might look like can check it out.  But I have absolutely NO idea how to do it.

Anyone here know how?

Nobody knows?

Drop it into excel and copy/paste? Screenshot from your 'puter software?

I meant the data from my logs on here.  as a short cut.  Like I want to do all that work!!!

Can't you just copy the charts and post it in the peloton forum?  That's probably what I would do.

Tried.  For some reason it won't let me do the copy/paste thing.

Hey Dan-O.

I'm headed back to Michigan City in a few weeks.  Revisit the scene of the crime from two years ago.  New race group this year, with a different course.  Have to MAIL in the registration form.  How old school is that?

Seriously?  Did I do something wrong?

Your friends with my ex?

You did nothing wrong! If they were a real friend they would understand, and personally I have no desire to talk to people who act like that. This would be a situation I use my new motto of FTB

Well, Lisa, actually, if you ask my mom, my (and my sister's) birthday is HER special day.  Apparently a kid's birthday is not about the kid, it's about the mom (which I thought is what Mother's Day was for, but hey, who am I to say).  She even wears little plastic dollar-store tiaras and everything.

Yes, I know.  You don't have to say anything.

G'night kids. It's almost 3:30am. I should sleep. Specially since I didn't sleep last night.

And I have a long bike ride in the morning.

And then I have to drive all the way to my OTHER house 'cause it's where the stuff is I need to pack. Durrr.

And then I need to pack for my trip to my parents' in Jakarta (I hope it's not too nightmarish. I predict World War 2.5).

Crap, I need to get my BFF a birthday present. She's a total alcoholic. Would booze be acceptable?

Then I need to work in the afternoon. Then I need to pick up Widi on the way to my BFF's house.

From my BFF's house, I get on the midnight flight to Jakarta. It's going to be a long, interesting day and then a really, really, really whacked weekend. One way or another ... an adventure.

Agreed.  I never got gifts on my sister's bday.  I actually loved picking out stuff for her and being in on the surprises.  I don't remember ever thinking I needed a gift on her birthday.  Because if that's the case, I better start registering, she's getting married in November and I wouldn't mind new dishes!!!

yeah... uuhhh. what?
From my friend Wikopedia: The phrase "The pot calling the kettle black" is an idiom used to accuse a person or thing of being marked with or guilty of the very thing they are pointing out.

And as for the dog analagy... good one, except I'd expect human beings (even little ones) to have more control of their emottions than a puppy dog. Or at least use this as an opportunity to teach them how...

Agreed.  I never got gifts on my sister's bday.  I actually loved picking out stuff for her and being in on the surprises.  I don't remember ever thinking I needed a gift on her birthday.  Because if that's the case, I better start registering, she's getting married in November and I wouldn't mind new dishes!!!

I do give him something, its called cake. Anything more then that kids need to HTFU

at least go to the (ridiculous) you don't have kids so you couldn't possibly understand.

I got that a lot as a single, school psychologist.
I wish I could find every one who told me that and say, "I am a parent of two now, and everything I said is still true!"
