She has 1 more event, I hope she has something left for it. Then she has a softball game tonight.

Thursday I'll see her up on the track.

That little girl is awesome!

She is very competitive. I don't know where she gets it from. Innocent

It is to be 88 and humid here today. I have apples, strawberries, and grapes for Keri to take to softball. I'm thinking I need to stop on the way home and grab some more fruit to take to the soccer game tonight. I can probably split the grapes between the 2. Not sure if I want to go with apples for soccer, or maybe grab some oranges.

Grapes are good. Oranges, unless pre-cut are a mess.

Help.. I have fallen and I can't get up.... not really, but I do feel a nap coming on. I pre-warned my boss. I hate to take vacation time because I couldn't sleep. sigh

Maybe if I get a good long spin in after work, I'll sleep tonight.

Good morning Ghoulies!

What a day yesterday!

I was on the move from 3:45am until 9:30pm. I SO did not want to get out of bed this morning. Keri's softball game ended up just being a scrimmage because the ump didn't show up. They tied 6-6. Caleb's team lost the soccer game 4-0. It was 1-0 at halftime. The kid they put in goal the second half is not a goalie. He's short. He's fat. He's slow. It's frustrating.

Today Keri has her Ensemble concert. This evening, when it cools off a little we're going to the park to pitch. She is the starting pitcher for tomorrow night's game.

I am running into town this am. Hopefully a swim will happen.

Ann, I almost had to take a nap reading about your day yesterday.

I wish I'd have gotten a nap yesterday. Once I left work I stopped at the store to pick up fruit for the games. I also stopped and bought myself a pair of sunglasses, because I had none, and I am a sunglass wearer. I got home, took a shower. Prepped fruit. Picked up Keri. Went and picked up bags of ice. Took Keri home. Filled 2 2 gallon jugs with ice and water. Went to school to pick Caleb up from basketball, then ran him home. While he changed for soccer I put the fruit in a cooler for soccer and a cooler for softball, put Keri's hair in a pony tail, and tied up the sleeves on her shirt with velcro strips so she didn't have sleeves. Took the boy to soccer. And at soccer games I sit by my car behind the goal and chase balls that don't make it into the net. My niece was there with her daughter for soccer practice. Caleb came out at the end of the game and she told me she'd run Caleb home if I wanted to leave to go watch Keri. I raced to the softball field. Helped Keri in and out of catcher's gear several times. Went up to the snack shack and helped Donnie. Ran back down to the field after the game and told both teams to stop by the snack shack for ice pops. Handed out ice pops to not only the 2 10U teams, but there was a 12U game going on at the park, too, I gave both those teams ice pops. Ordered a pizza. Helped clean up at snack shack. Picked up pizza. Tossed the girl in the shower. Made no attempt to clean up the mess I made earlier in the day. Tossed the girl in bed. Stripped and went to bed myself. Yeah. It was a busy day.

Robin - glad that you got a swim in.

Okay, I put in a couple of applications recently for library positions at Universities.  I figured that I was not really necessarily qualified because I don't have academic library experience, but what the heck.  If you don't try you will never know.

Well, I have a phone interview next Wednesday morning for one of them.  Now I am nervous.  Time to do more research on what academic libraries are like compared to public and can I convince them that my public experience will hold me in good stead.  Of course, they advertised the positions with no mention of the salary, so I don't know if they are even in the ballpark for what I would need.  Both of them are inside the Perimeter so there would be commute involved.  Don't know how many nights and weekends would be expected.  If it is more than what I do now, then no way.

So I'm doing research on the ALA web page under the Association of College and Research Libraries.  Figured that would be a good place to start.  I know one person who runs a smaller college library, but I can't ask her anything because she also works for my library system.  Our library system has a contract to run the local college library.  It is an interesting arrangement, but I figured that if they think a public librarian and library system can step in and run their library, then maybe I would be a good fit for this other position.

I'm a mess.

Nerves are good, it means you are stretching your wings. HOWEVER, you will do great. They would  not have called you for an interview if they didn't think you were qualified. I have my fingers crossed for you and that the job is what you want ($ and time wise).

Good morning Ghoulies!

The chorus ensemble concert yesterday was very nice. During the concert the Principal announced several retirements of teachers and teachers aids, exactly 250 years of teaching experience to be exact. At the end of the concert the chorus director made an announcment that the principal had forgot to mention that after 24 years in the elementary school he was moving up to the high school. All of the kids in the elementary school were in the gym for the concert, sitting on the bleachers, and on the floor. The chorus director said they had one more song to sing, it was a farewell song to sing to their principal. The ensemble sang the verses and the entire school sang the chorus. He was crying by the end. He tried to say thank you but he just couldn't get it out. He will be missed. Last year he won Principal of the Year in a national contest. Everyone really liked him.

After the concert, since everyone was home early and we had nothing going on last night we went kayaking.

That is wonderful that everyone showed the principal how much they respected them. Maybe your kids will get to be in his High School, too.

Good morning, Robin!

We went kayaking at 5:00, were off the water just after 6:00, grabbed dinner at a little ma & pa ice cream shop, and made it home about 20 minutes before the the thunderstorms started. When we got home Donnie unloaded the truck while I tossed the kiddos in the shower.

I was SOOOOO tired last night. I went to bed ridiculously early.

I bet you were tired! That is a nice time of evening to be on the water. We crashed early too. Jim has be furiously working on getting the "club house' cleaned for the weekend festivities. dirty, and tired. I made dinner and just as we were going to plop on the couch to watch mindless tv. The power went out from all the storms we had. We sat on the porch until I couldn't keep  my eyes open... about 8:30, I went to bed. Finally I slept pretty well.
