Morning Ghoulies.

While everyone around us got snow yesterday, a couple of inches, we are supposed to meet and exceed that today. They are forecasting 8-10 inches here today. More than in the mountains which is really unusual. that meas the power will go off. We shall see what materializes.

Today is the calm before the storm. They are predicting 12-24" of snow now. I think after today I'll be WFH the rest of the week. I have Monday off then as a holiday. Woot!

Keri got her cast off yesterday. She called one of her coaches on the way home. The coach was in her car with her daughter. They asked if she could come over and play basketball. So in low 20 temps yesterday afternoon they played basketball outside until it got dark out. Then they went inside in the warm and made muffins. It was after 8:00 until she got home last night. I put her in a hot bath so she could take her arm out of her splint and move it around some. She was guarding it, but she slept without the splint. She put it on to go to school today. She is clear to do whatever she likes though. The doctor told her that after the weekend she shouldn't need the splint at all. She wants to play basketball this weekend, but she needs to start using it first. I doubt she has basketball practice tomorrow night. Hopefully they'll have practice on Friday and she can use it some.

Bring your dog and cats and come up here. It's possible we could lose power, too, but we have the wood stove, and the generator, so we'll be ok.

Robin, you should come up here not for the generator and heat, but for the great sleds and sledding hill!

YES!!

We don't have a generator but we have the gas logs, we have hot water and can cook. Oil lamps so we can see. But we don't have hills that are sleddable (new word). All of our hills that we can walk to either point to the lake or are covered with trees!

Trees would definitely not be good. The lake isn't necessarily a bad thing, if it is deeply frozen. That could just add some more excitement to the ride.

therein lies the problem, even when it freezes, our lake is never DEEPLY frozen. Just very, very, very cold!

And it started. The teeniest snowflakes I have seen, but building up pretty quickly.

Our weather has warmed back up into the 40s.  Rain has melted the snow.  Now we just have the damp, cold wind again.  No more sledding for the neighborhood kids!

Bring the kids here to go sledding. We have plenty of snow to go around. You know it's been a rough winter when 40 sounds warm. :-/

Morning. We have 6 or so inches here.

That is very unusual for us. However, the temp is rising today so it will be gone pretty soon.. at least by the weekend.

We have at least that much, and it is supposed to keep coming down the rest of the day. I'm thinking the 12" prediction was a bit conservative. It's windy, too.

Along with the chickadees, I've also had a cardinal out at one of the feeders this morning. The birds really put a hurting on the suet cakes yesterday, I'm going to try and get out this morning and put some new ones out.

Good morning Ghoulies from the frozen tundra of the south.  I know we don't have the quantity of snow that you folks farther north have, but we are stuck.  We have two different layers of ice under our snow.  I don't think I'll even get out of my street tomorrow, so even if they don't cancel work, I don't think I'll be going in.  Posted a picture out my front door on Facebook.   No one is even venturing out to sled.  That lets you know how bad the ice is.

Ice ruins all the fun! Stay safe and no slips, trips or falls!

Snow and Ice!  Yikes!   Everybody stay safe!

We are back to our usual rain.Supposed to get up to 50* today, but the wind is cold.

My stepdaughter and I are supposed to do a 5k on Saturday morning.  I am thinking it will be chilly and WET.

I hope it clears up for your race at least.

Now the winds are here. WOW, it is CCCCCOOOOOLLLLLDDDDDD out!

Dee, I'm supposed to do a 5K on Saturday morning also.  With all this weather and our treadmill not working, I have not been able to keep up.  Might be walking more than I want on Saturday.

Ghoulies, the sun came out and the streets and driveways are all melting.  Keep fingers crossed that they don't stay wet and freeze again over night.  I've got the car all ready at the top of the driveway to go to work tomorrow morning.  Won't be rushing.

It's hard to tell for sure, because there was a lot of drifting, but my husband estimated that we got about 18-20" of snow yesterday morning. Then we got a few more overnight. The good news is by next Wednesday it is supposed to be 50! 

I am WFH, and the kiddos have a 2 hour delay, for now.
