Master 1688 ALSAGER, CHESHIRE. UK | Subject: RE: Peep Jousters: The Original Peep Warriors Gear shifters. A lot different to yours. Shimano levers~
Pull the silver lever towards you to brake. You should be able to choose if you want right hand front brake or left hand. I'm right handed & prefer to have right hand rear braking, as in an emergency my right will react first. Rear will skid rather than me go arse over t.i.t (Ha! Won't let me put that in without the stops~periods to you. To me a period is something women have & I don't want to talk about them).
To change gear in the opposite direction push the smaller black lever situated directly behind the silver one. This changes one gear at a time.
Instead of this black lever, on my Sora shifter there is a black button that you press. This is also how the other maufacturer Campagnolo operate theirs.
Move the silver lever as the first bike.
Put you off? Hope not. I had them shown to me before I bought my first bike as I hadn't a clue. They take some getting used to & even now at the end of a long ride, when my brain is starved of oxygen or through lack of concentration, I am known to change into the wrong gear. It's no problem on the flat, quick swear, change into the correct gear & no harm done. The problems arise when you are in a middleish gear & you hit a climb. When I started riding I lost count of the number of times I changed into a harder gear rather than the easier one. The bike just comes to a grinding halt & I've had to jump off more than once! Once again hope this helps. Karen ~ how are you getting on with your Dolce? Don't know if that was your first bike with shifters.

Well - I've only been on my actual bike 3 times - can you believe it - yikes, but first ride I was totally confused. I like them, but my rides are pretty short and when I get on the road/ in a race i suspect I'll get confused. |

LOL...when I went to ride some road bikes...I took one outside and was waiting on the DH to pick one to ride and I kept looking all over the bike....I was looking for the shifters...not to be found...then my DH came out and explained that it was the brake levers...and showed me how you push them in...I was amazed...you do that to your mtn bike and you break the brake levers...NOT A GOOD THING...I know that bike shop employees probably had a good laugh over the girl who had no idea what she was doing! Nice of you to give her a class on it...but it is probably on YOU TUBE, TOO! I find all kinds of great information on there..I was looking at transition training over the weekend...was very helpful! they have swimming demos...flip turn coaching...you name it is there! but they are not half as cute as Martin...although, all we can see are his manly hands! where is the rest of you Martin and where are those white shorts!?!? still waiting!!!!! |

Master 1688 ALSAGER, CHESHIRE. UK | Subject: RE: Peep Jousters: The Original Peep Warriors CHR15 shifters are for climbing. I don't get down on the drops as often as I should. Have lower back problems this year which doesn't help either. Now look away. For a shy, reserved Englishman I can't believe I've done this. I tried to adjust my todger to show it off in the best light but you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Thought I'd get that in first. (Look it up on Google Leslie!)
I didn't dare put it here but I've put a pic on my blog where I've got nothing on! Edited by 4everblue 2008-04-02 6:02 AM |
