It's hard to tell for sure, because there was a lot of drifting, but my husband estimated that we got about 18-20" of snow yesterday morning. Then we got a few more overnight. The good news is by next Wednesday it is supposed to be 50!

I am WFH, and the kiddos have a 2 hour delay, for now.

HOLY MOLY! that is A LOT of snow!

Have you made a snow man?

Good morning Ghoulies!

Ann - stay safe.  That is a lot of snow.

Robin - have you thawed out?  We did yesterday with a little help from the snow shovels.

Looking forward to March 29th!

We shoveled off the steps and the steps at the cottages. (by WE, I mean Jim). The cottages are all filled this weekend. (YEA!!!). Other than that, we let Ma Nature take care of the snow. You can't really shovel gravel. Well, we do drive the cars around the drive way so folks don't get all freaked out about the snow.

I can't wait till March 29th either. I hope the weather cooperates.

Well, the weather was not what they said it would be today. Either that or I was in denial. The wind is just ferocious. Indoor stuff for me.

Good morning Ghoulies!

Today is President's Day, so I have the day off. WOOT! The husband is at work. The kiddos are at work. I have the day to myself.

Not a lot planned, mostly putzing around the house. And probably taking a nap.

Yesterday Caleb's basketball game was cancelled. Keri's game was on. She was nervous. She didn't know if she wanted to wear her brace, or play without it. I told her to take plenty of time to warm up. She took some shots. One of the girls did some passing back and forth with her. She was nervous. She was babying her arm. It is all understandable. When her team was going into the locker room before her game I told the coaches she was nervous. The head coach said she wasn't going to start her, and she was only going to use her a little bit. That's fine with me. I was nervous, too.

The game started. Keri was on the bench. That was weird for both of us. It wasn't very far into the game and the starting point guard was in trouble. The assistant coach pulled her and put Keri in. After the game the head coach told me she hadn't planned on using Keri as a point. She was hesitant, you could tell. I told her it was good for her, she was comfortable there. They did move her over to a shooting guard later, but she hasn't played there much, and she isn't comfortable there. Late in the first half Keri got knocked down. She stayed down for a few seconds. She got up. She realized she was ok, then it was game on. She was back to playing like her normal self. She played the entire second half. She took some shots, all of which she missed. She did break up a few plays, get a few rebounds, and stole the ball twice. I knew her biggest obstacle was going to be her head, not her arm. I hope she's ok now.

Good morning Ghoulies!

Ann - glad that Keri survived her first game back without any new injuries.  Perfectly understandable that she is going to be nervous about her arm.

Robin - I too am looking forward to spring like weather.

Had a great weekend.  Did a 5K, and while my time was not great, it was a 2 second per mile improvement from the one a month ago.  Of course with the treadmill not working at home, and the horrible weather we have had, I have not been keeping up with my training plan, so I was not expecting a good race.  So, I'm happy with the small improvement there was.

that sounds pretty darn good, Kendra. It has been pretty awful to try to get out and run. How is the hip today?

On Friday afternoon we invited some friends over to go sledding. We were out on the hill for about 3 hours. When it started getting dark we headed into the house. The men folk (Donnie, Shawn, Caleb, Andrew, Nathan) stayed in the house while the women (me, my friend Dana, and Keri) went and picked up some pizzas and snacks. It was a good evening.

On Saturday Keri's basketball game was cancelled so we invited her basketball team, and their families to come sledding. We had 24 people up on the hill, that's where the FB pictures came from. We had a bonfire, and snacks. Everyone had a good time. Even the parents were going down the hill. We had the track pretty slicked down, and there's a ridge partway down where we were catching some nice air. Keri and I spent about 4 hours out there on Saturday.

My shoulder was a little sore when we got back in the house. I took a muscle relaxer. I slept for 11 hours Saturday night. That's 2 nights sleep for me. It doesn't feel too bad today.

I agree.  That sounds like an awesome weekend.  I miss sledding in the winter, but not enough to move.

Good Morning!  The rain is really coming down here.  All weekend and thru the week.

Didn't make the 5k on Saturday.  I was dressing for it, knowing that I would get drenched by rain and puddles.  Then DD called.  Her 3 yo daughter was spending night at the dad's (who lives with his mom).  Little girl was sick and crying for mom.  They wanted DD to come pick her up right away.  So since DD wasn't going to make it to the run, I did not go either.  We will find another one to do and try again.

Sounds like a lot of fun!  Glad Keri is doing better, and made it thru the hurdle of the first game back.

Sorry about the race. It sounds like it would have been pretty yucky anyway.

I saw on the news you all were getting way more rain than normal. and that is saying a lot!

Don’t forget this is an incredibly big year for sport with the Olympics back in Athens where the modern Olympics started, and especially triathlon to make its second appearance.
