I think I phoned her like 5 times today.  Like she wouldn't phone me if she was going into labor.

Oh my, so some training chat....

So I did go for a run today.  Really getting excited about running again.  I am already thinking of next years frozen a$$ 50, I think I am going to aim to do the hypothermic half too (which has been the day before the last 2 years) which would make for a killer awesome week end.   Have been reading race reports on the Lost Soul Ultra (2010) and the Canadian Death Race (2011).

I am aiming for running 6 days, or 7 hours a week to get my base up.  I want to eventually be able to do 12-13 k at lunch in an hour or so.  I need to take my tame, not get injured.  I love having these long range plans, it is really helping me structure my training.  I know that this probably seems like a pie in the sky goal considering the baby on the way but I really think excercising everyday has benifits that far outway the time cost so it something I am going to strive for in the coming months.

....not sure how riding to work is going to work with the running and the sleepless nights, but it takes me like an hour to ride to work and I will be taking the bus soon and that takes an hour so I figure, best use of time is to get a workout in.  I think I maybe heavy loading my weeks so I can take the weekend off of training which may make more sense.

Thanks for listening.

When do you eat lunch and what do you eat? It seems like whenever I run for an hour-ish, I become ridiculously famished for the rest of the day - and my lack of serious willpower is no match for all the snacks we have laying around.

Quads are still a little sore from Sunday and need at LEAST a few more days off the foot.  I planned on an easy swim today to loosen everything up a bit, but just found out this morning that my boyfriend, Jonah, who some of you met this weekend got laid off today.   CRUD!

If my foot didn't feel so messed up (I'll go see the doc if it doesn't improve tomorrow or the next day) I'd convince him to go for a little jog with me to get rid of some of his inevitable anger and worry... but that's not happening.  Maybe I could break out the massage table and try some one-legged bodywork?  That'd be some relief for him and good core balance exercise for me... soooo don't want to be at work right now... but glad to have a good job...

That sucks about your boyfriend.  It sucks to get laid off.  It makes you feel so friggin powerless and dependant on society, I hate that.  Give him my best, for what it is worth.  Think a case of beer may be more helpful then a little jog.  Especially tough to console someone in that situation.  Good luck with it.

Take it easy on the legs......smart move not running today.

Yeah that is tricky.  I can't eat too much in the morning otherwise I have stomache issues.  I usually have a protien shake with fruit and yogurt, probably around 500 calories.  Maybe a peanut butter sandwhich or a cookie or a protien bar, if I get up super early.  That keeps me going until about 1, but I am starving by 11.  I have in the past 2-3 weeks trained myself to run even though I am hungry, which actually is not that uncommon, I have read people who start IM hungry.....

Anyways, I get back, eat until I am full, usually  a couple ham or peanut butter sandwhiches and about a pound of carrots (well that is the unpeeled weight, probably like 400 grams), so that is probably about 700-800 calories.  That carries me until 6.

But I am lucky, I am at work, not a lot to snack on around here, thank goodness.

If you are hungry though, eat carrots, it takes forever to eat them and they are so bulky they take up so much room.  They are just a hassle to prepare and take up so much room in the fridge.  We probably go through at least 5 pounds a week.

SOOOOO I know this week's challenge.  Guesss the correct date and time of BabyDH! If Darren would just post the due date as he knows it we can go from there.  Who ever is closest gets to choose the name!  JK Darren. Also guess a weight as a possible tiebreaker.

I'm sorry that I have been a crummy co-mentee.  I seem to have overextended myself with challenge groups and such.  I found that I couldn't keep up with all the posts and sort of gave up.  However, I have been training, even though it sometimes takes me a couple days to get the training entered into the log.

Pam did I see you are reading Runner's World??  I love the newbie chronicles they have been doing . The first one was just hysterical.  He is a good writer and very honest about the fact that it is hard to like/love running.

OK, don't laugh...my daughter and I went into a thrift-type store in town, and I bought six Running Times and eight Runner's World for $3.50!!! I didn't even know exactly what I was getting, but, at that price, how could I go wrong? (They're not torn up and ratty, either!) I have really been enjoying them and think it was a wise investment...hmmm, there's a concept, investments at a thrift store!!! And, yes, the newbie chronicles are FUNNY...and sometimes painfully applicable!

 How is she feeling Darren?

Went to the doc today.  Baby is as low as it goes without coming out, so much so that she didn't check her dilation, which they sometimes do I guess, because of discomfort.  Couldn't really get an answer on what that means timewise.

It is so wierd, 8 days seems way too long but also way too soon.

How have you been doing on your list of Feb 28th Goals??

I am closer to achieving them if I had not had any goals, but I won't make them.  I stuck with the No Sugar Challenge.  I did lose weight, but not as much as I hoped.  I did stick with Crossfit and am now lots stronger than I was, but did not get in perfect physical shape as I assumed that I would (in a mere two months).  I haven't checked my cholesterol yet, but hope to get that done next week.  I think my last test was at 211 and so I don't really have HIGH cholesterol, just would like it a smidge lower.  I am pretty close to achieving my swim goal of 100 meters in 2:30.  My best time so far is 2:34.  I gave up on the 100 pushup challenge because I do plenty of (weak) pushups in Crossfit.  I do intend to go back to the 100 pushup challenge as soon as I can do more all the way down and up pushups (instead of four all the way down and up pushups and the rest halfway down and up).  I forget the rest of my goals.   I didn't lack for February 28 goals.

I am now working on establishing my goals for May 31.  I am going to France on June 1 and want to be in perfect physical shape and get all the excess weight off, etc., etc., etc.  It never ends, does it?

And I say the baby will be born on March 6, 2009.  369.  3+6=9.  Get it??  My grandson is sort of like that.  9/6/04.  2/3 of 9 is 6 and 2/3 of 6 is 4.  I love number stuff and when you can make relationships.  My dad was born in 1933, I was born in 1955 and my son was born in 1977.  I tried to talk my son into having a baby in 1999, but he was smarter than my dad and me and waited until 2004.

Have a good day all.

For wht it is worth, regarding the pushups, I do tons, mostly through karate and yoga, but I only go half way, so that my upper arm and forearm do a 90 degree angle.  I used to go all the way to the floor but then my shoulder started to hurt.

That is my story.

I bet you just loved that movie, 27 or 29 or 17 or anyway, with Jim Carey.
