ironannekidd - 2010-03-19 7:30 AM I had a bad ride last night bEASTies and I may be done for the month.

Without going into the whole story I'll just say it involved my me, my bike, a Rottweiller, and me crashing.

My hip is bruised and sore. A section of my quad is sore just above my knee, but I'm having a lot of knee pain, sort of inside my knee. I'm going to take the weekend off and rest. If I'm still having a lot of pain on Monday I'm going to call my doctor.

What terrible news.  You must have been scared out of your wits being brought down by a Rottweiller.  Rest up--I hope it is just bruises and an MD won't be necessary.

KOM - 2010-03-18 1:24 PM People coming over is about the only time I clean my house.  It really needs it!

You're nicer than I am.  I save my cleaning for AFTER company leaves, so I can enjoy a clean and peaceful house.  I am terrible.

You're both nicer than I am... I save my cleaning for after the company ARRIVES... then I put 'em to work... Spring cleaning, taser-style!!!

Bill, I am downright inspired by you.  My company doesn't know what's comin'.

A swim and a cycle in the books today.  My training will take a hit for the rest of the weekend, because my husband is off to Boston for a Bachelor Party.  So, with the kiddies in tow, I will try to manage a bike ride tomorrow.  I hope to catch up with my goals early next week.  Go bEASTies!

billsorg - 2010-03-19 9:23 AM Whew!  All caught up on the thread... that only took an hour or so!  Missed my AM workout again... I was just hoping to do an easy 5k on the treadmill as a final warmup to my race on Sunday.  But alas, the sleep won out over the workout.  My boss is out today, so I'm going to head over to the Y at some point today and get in a little run.  It's very, very nice out, but I think I'm just going to opt for the treadmill to minimize the impact on my legs.

On a lighter, more painful note.  I'm coaching my 9-year-old daugher's softball team and last night was our team's first practice.  I was throwing grounders to the girls and when one of the girls was throwing the ball back to me, got distracted for a moment and took a softball directly to the upper lip.  It wasn't too painful, but it bled a little and instantly became swollen to the point that I looked (and still look) rediculouos -  think Rocky Balboa at the end of every one of his fights.  My daughter said, "Daddy, I hope you're not mad at me." I said, "Honey, why would I be mad at you?  You didn't throw the ball and it was my fault anyway... I wasn't watching where I should have been watching."  She said, "I know... but I just couldn't stop laughing."  I was wondering why she was walking around with her glove over her mouth after it happened.  NICE!

OUCH!

billsorg - 2010-03-19 2:22 PM It's such a georgeous day out, I decided to run outside... how could I resist?!  So my 5k turned into 5+ miles.  Kept it to a nice, easy pace and it felt great.  After I finish my race on Sunday I'll be at 90% of my run goal.  So I'll be able to focus on swimming (yay... not) and biking.  Everyone have a fan-dam-tastic weekend!
Cool

Yep gotta take this weather when we can! Nice job on the run.

I going out on the tri bike tomorrow and will be riding with a friend on a road bike. She'll probably toast me like she always does.

Just watched "Up in the Air"; what a dark, twisted, cynical story. I loved it!

Enjoyed my rest day yesterday... went to the the lip sync show at my daughter's elementary school. The kids did a great job and my daughter really got a kick out of seeing her friends and teacher on stage. It was a nice "night out" for the two of us! Went to bed early hoping to kick this cold in the butt... Couldn't breathe, couldn't sleep... ugh! At least it's sunny and will be WARM today!

So, with it being sunny and warm today... plan is to pick up my pig sty a little this morning, head to swim lessons and then get a run in this afternoon. Not sure how well I'll be able to breathe but I can't pass this up.

Morning team! It is another beautiful sunny day here.  This morning I will "racing" a 5K with 3000+ of my Irish brethren in Providence.  It should be quite a mad house.  In addition to the race, there is a parade after the race (we run on the route before it starts) and the NCAA BBall tourney is in town.  I am thinking the warm-up jog from where ever I park will be longer than the race!  I am planning a PR in fun and games!!!

After that I need to get cooking for my St Pat's party on Sunday. I have 10 lbs of corned beef made so far.  Still not sure how many are coming, so not sure how much to make.  I hate it when people don't rsvp...
