Hi team!  As some of you know I am trying to turn my career in the direction of health and wellness/ lifestyle medicine.  I have written several short articles for various projects I have been involved with and have been meaning to start a blog where I can put all of them out there.  Soooo, while the paint was drying in my daughter's room...I started a blog!  I posted an essay I did a while ago about my first tri.  Let me know what you think.  Link to my new blog is here!

I hope everyone is well. I survived a crazy week and hope to get out of the office at a decent time so I can get my bike cleaned, tuned and ready for the ride tomorrow.

Ooh, I missed it-- what's the ride tomorrow?

And what's on tap for the weekend, folks?

I'm off to my bro's in Fishkill, NY for a relaxing weekend, which means little to no exercise and lots of healthy food, but generally waaaay too much of it.  It's about 55 degrees out there right now, so I was considering bringing my bike down and tempting my brother out for an easy ride (we were considering a HIM relay with him as the bike and me as the swim, and my other brother as the runner...) but it's somehow supposed to SNOW on Saturday and get back up in the 40s on Sunday when I'll be driving home.  What the heck???  These glimpses of spring are such a tease!

 Well....I worked all night long...so that is my very VALID excuse!!!

I have a long training ride scheduled for tomorrow and a run on sunday and then comes a much needed recovery week. Thank goodness. I'm beat.

Busy weekend for me training wise...

Saturday two hour trainer ride or 40-50 outside followed by 2 mile run-brick!

Sunday 7 mile run and later or right after 40 min or 12 mile ride.

I'll probably get in an extra swim with Kevin and the girls.

I bought a new saddle Selle SMP Glider today...$270...ouch...can try it out for couple weeks to see how it works..hope to get it on before tomorrow but 2 hours may be to long for a new saddle. Same saddle brand as I have but a little narrower 136 mm vs 148mm for SMP Pro saddle . Selle SMP brand has nice large cut out so nothing gets squished and solved many problems but caused some others.

My tri coach wants me to start using my orthotics again so I needed neutral running shoes and ordered some Men's  mizuno wave rider 12s as I have wide feet.

ugh - well i'm glad i'm not alone with the 'post-slacking'

i seriously slacked today! i shifted my off day to yesterday but...oops.... didn't get out today either. (sucks that i squandered the warm weather, too!)

the job hunt is stressing me out! if i don't do it i feel guilty but if i do it all day then i get very depressed and UNMOTIVATED!

maybe i should buy a bike trainer.... then there'd be NO excuse...?   ok, i'll shake it off and will get back on the horse tomorrow!
