Has anybody else been as unproductive at work as I have been?  Between constantly checking the weather, watching this forum, and going over my packing list a million times.  I might as well have taken off this entire week.

I can't wait to get there.

Mark,

Thanks for posting about the OWS at 7am on Friday.  Can you please tell me the name of the local tri group and if there is a website with more information as I'd like to share it with some of my non-BT friends?

Thanks,

David

Same here!  I think my head's already on the airplane.  My body will catch up on Thursday.

thedallasceliac - 2012-06-19 7:20 AM I was really hoping the forecasted sunny days would help the lake warm up, but it looks like that will probably not happen.  Glad to hear from those of you that have swam in it recently that it is not as bad as it could be.

If the forecast holds and it warms up into the 70's and even 80's this week, the water will be at least 58 degrees, maybe a little warmer on race day.  That's warm enough to be tolerable even for those of you coming from warm water climates.  No worries!

DITTO.  I've put myself in a huge hole trying to finish what I promised my clients I would do.  Yet here I am, reading the posts and checking the weather.

I am supposed to be actually working at work this week?  I can't focus.

Yep, and I don't even have the added stress of traveling.  Starting to get that "bouncing off the walls" feeling already.  My co-workers were already pretty sure I'm crazy, now they're positive.

So if the forecast the day of the race is for a decent chance of rain and a high of 65 (for example), what rain gear (if any) would you put in your bags?  I've ran 16 miles in the cold rain, but I'm not sure about 26.  As of now NOAA has a 70% chance of rain Saturday and Saturday night - if that leaks into Sunday it could be interesting.  I've also found out that my neoprene toe warmers can actually hold a lot of water.

Has anyone got a recap of all the group workouts that are going on this week up at CDA?  According to my notes, there are swims at 7am on thursday and friday.  I'm going to ride the run course after picking up my bike from TBT on thursday.  Anything else going on?

Not a workout but, I believe we are meeting at 1 on Friday to do a drive of the bike course.

Don't say anything about 80's! I'd rather keep the temp of the water down 5 degrees than risk a warm run!

it is just a group that gets together every once and a while and talks about glory days. sometimes we train together also. There is no wedsite or anything like that. A facebook group page was made and I just clipped and pasted it to this thread.

Good to hear semi-officially. I assumed when they were trying to fill volunteer positions for next years signups the renewal was a done deal, but still hadn't (haven't) seen any official announcement. I am so in for next year. Good luck to everyone!

Yee haw!!! That's what I've been waiting to hear... I'm in for next year.

I've been lurking here for the last year, following the amazing journey you've all set out on - best of luck and Godspeed on Sunday!  I'll be volunteering at the finish line... can't wait to see all your smiling faces Smile

According to the FB Event Page:  Open Water Swim Practice - We are meeting at Indepence Point at Mudgey & Millie on the corner of the steps. It was suggested we have a mass start for practice, so please be ready to start swimming at 7:15am

They are serving hot coffee afterwards so there will be people on shore to watch any bags you might leave.
