Subject: RE: NBA Finals

I'm going to attempt to not sound like a complete home team mavs fan,,,

I think this is the thread I mentioned that both teams lead the league in 2 pt efficiencies this year but for the finals were way down yet their 3 pt shooting was still great.  It showed last night.  As strange as it sounds this is what mavs fans are used to, them getting hot for a long stretch on the 3 ball.   In fact it often drives me crazy that they often drive to the hoop and could get a lay-in or 3-5 ft shot but zip it out for the three..  That seemed like a big difference last night, the mavs ability to penetrate then kick.

Chalmers should never go across mid court,, just feed him at half court.  Incredible that he did it two nights in a row

Dirk has equaled his dunk total from the entire season, in the playoffs now. kind of a cool stat on how he changes his game during the playoffs

You can't spell Bear attack without Barea

I thought Lebron played well.  I'm not sure why they tried to get him going by feeding him in the post to start since it's not really his game down low.. getting him cutting across or a back pick to free him, sure. But just dropping it in, Not that great.   But I'm amazed on the other boards, how everyone is blaming him.  He basically had a hand in 37? (points/assist) of his teams 100 points ... good ratio.   I did like when Dirk drove for the dunk late that Lebron decided to take jump shots, Just the opposite of how they are perceived.

after 2 Miami home games and 3 mavs home games it's 3-2 mavs.  they didn't get there the way most people view home court but that's how it is.

this is the 2nd year in a row that the rumors about Lebron focus not only on his late game play, which I think is fair. But the personal attacks on the women in his family I think are in poor taste.

I"m hoping for mavs in six, but I'm not sure of anything, this is too close to call

This has turned out to be one of the most exciting Finals series that I can remember. I am getting tired off listening to the announcers go on their emotional "BoshJamesWade roller coaster ride." Wonder how much money advertisers and promoters stand to lose if the Heat don't pull off a win?

Agree with other comment that as a Heat fan I actually did not feel as bad with that loss as other 2.   I was sitting there much of the game wondering how the heck Miami is still in the game after the way Dallas is shooting the ball.  When they went up 99-95 I felt we might steal the win.    So again they collapse last few minutes and will have to see what happens at home.   I do think there will be game 7, but nothing is a given.   I also thought that when Wade went to locker room it would re-ignite James' game and make him dominate the floor like he is capable of.  It was the quietest triple double I have ever seen.

The only thing I am optimistic about is how poor Heat play at times and still keep close (minus last 3:00).  Also would find it hard to imagine Dallas being able to make shots with eyes closed 2 games in a row, the 3 point shooting was rediculous.   There are chinks in both teams armour and coaches doing good job of exploiting.   Kudos to Carlisle, he has done great job.

Prediction: WADE goes over 40 points in game 6.

The NBA fix is on.  Heat in 7.  Nobody would watch the NBA for the next 6 years if the Heat swept Dallas.  Stern needs the finals to go 7 games so that people will bother to watch next year.

Nice game... gotta love it...

so tired of hearing how the Heat collapsed in the earlier games. Nothing about Dallas actually winning the games.

This should quiet that crowd!

I’m pretty sure a lot of part time basketball fans will come out today.  In regards to the comment about money can’t buy NBA championships, you should check out the Mavs payroll before making that comment, is about 25 million higher than the Heat, so money can’t buy love but it certainly helps .

To those Mavs fan that have been posting regularly…CONGRATULATIONS.  Dallas played incredibly well and did something I didn’t think they could do, they certainly proved me wrong.  I’m actually glad that Dirk got his championship.

Yep.  Just like Miami's fanbase exploded when they were suddenly good again.  It's the nature of sports and people in general.  Not everybody is a fanatic.

I agree with you....I was simply stating the obvious you could say.  Actually, it is more prevalent with Miami than with any other place, must be because most people here are from somewhere else.

Well, that was kind of an uneventful - it sucks losing on your home turf, and then it sucks more being the winner with no grandiose at that venue.

Kidd went to High School across the bay from me, and he was touted as the next Jordan.  Didn't quite live up to that billing but I'm still happy for the guy!

I'm surprised the Mavs won, not a team I would have picked, but only because they were perennial choke artists.  The Heat were a more talented team, but they need to fix their inner demons, something is wrong with LeBron's head.

I think this championship is HUGE for the NBA,  its the first time an international player led his team to a title, which will carry alot overseas...

Very good point, specially for European players.  But he wasn't the first international player to lead his team to a title, Hakeem  Olajuwon did it a couple of times in the 90s

In each game of these finals I started to feel more like the Mavs were earning the wins vs. Miami collapse.   The way Miami shot from the line last night and the way Dallas shot the 3 ball, this Heat fan was not optimistic much of 2nd half.   Could Heat have played better, absolutely, but everyone should really focus on how well Dallas played this series.  Mavs had supporting cast step up every time and Miami did not have that same fire I saw with Boston and Chicago.   Bit overall credit to Dallas for great final game.

Did you hear Apple is releasing a limited edition LeBron iPhone. Breaks down when you need it the most, cost a lot for not much in return, and only vibrates as there is no ring.....

and.....

After game 5, D-Wade asked LeBron if he had change for a dollar. LeBron handed D-Wade 75 cents. D-Wade said "I asked for change, man". LeBron responed "Sorry bro, I don't have a 4th quarter".

Well.....I guess it's back to my regular life, with all my troubles and what not.......

The most telling thing I heard in the post game interviews was that LeBron mentioned he was going to work on his game individually this summer. He mentioned "individually" about 6-7 times in a 5 minute spurt. I thought that the the Heat's main problem...they did not play as a team in the fourth qtr. No one wanted to take the lead on that team!
