Artemis - 2012-06-28 11:39 AM Cat, I don't think I can ride during the challenge.  It looks like I tore cartilage in my wrist and riding aggravates the injury.  I will happily be a cheerleader and help you in any way.

Owie! hope it heals quickly.

Unfortunately, it's been going on for quite awhile and the cortisone shot didn't last as long as it should.  I had an MRI yesterday and will be meeting with two orthopedic surgeons in the next two weeks to get their opinions.

Bummer! Cartilidge tears are painful and tough to heal. Hope you get good news from the docs.

Thanks Kagphin. That's the plan.

May have to get most of my rides in later in the month, found that TTOM cramps and riding don't go well together for me. Oh well I'll see what happens. 15 mins can't be that hard can it?

Thanks! Hoping to avoid surgery.  Its kind of scary.  Obviously, if its the right call I will do it, but I'd prefer not to.

Sorry to hear this!  I hope you can avoid surgery too, I know with your little one running around you will be busy, but try to heal up quickly!

Woo Hooo - watched the preview show last night and I am psyched for the TdF.

My wife asked me about the Health Care Plan being passed and I told her the tour starts Saturday.  She asked what that had to do with her question - and I replied that is all I watch this time of the year so I can only answer questions about the TdF (yes I know I am a bad US Citizen and Husband but am a great cyclist )

Watched it too!  SUPER STOKED!!!  I don't think my husband and I spoke about the Health Care Plan at all last night!  Less talky, more cycling!

The TdF preview was awesome.  My son even watched and he's not into cycling at all (yet - cue the evil laugh!)

When will the spreadsheet be ready?  I leave in the AM for an unplugged weekend and I don't want my teammates to think I've abandoned them.  Still coming up with my goal.  Right now I'm thinking 500 miles in 13 sessions.

That's right Warren - make us all look like slackers...500 miles in 13 sessions? That breaks down to about 38 miles per session. You stud.

(On a similar note, I'm in for 400 miles in 13 sessions including my first century on July 21) Woot woot!

Goal for TdF Challenge:

Minimum of 30 miles - all 21 stages.

Have my century tomorrow. 110 miles & 11,000 ft. climbing. That should put Garmin in the lead from the get go.

Too bad you do not get points for elevation. I have one with 120 miles and 11K in 2 weeks.

I'll have to look at my schedule today and figure out my miles and sessions. I'm looking at 120/week

Had a tougher time than usual getting a goal since I will be tapering down for most of the challenge this year. I'll go with 12 stages for 350 miles. And don't worry if I'm dragging into Paris team.. I have a big one planned for the finale
