Waiting for them to go to Germany and use Dachua or Poland for Auschwitz. Killing Fields in Kampuchea would be cool.
Good memory or good research. Whatever the case, nice catch.
According to the spoiler website, they do go to Germany this season. But I DOUBT they go to Dachau!! I get that you were being sarcastic, but....concentration camps?!?!?! not cool
They've been to Auschwitz before. |

Neat location and interacting with the Bushmen. The scorpion task would have creeped me way out but I don't think I would have been as much of a bish as the Youtube guy. He just annoys me. Katie is amazingly hot but not very nice. Obviously the Bushmen are smelly since they've been outside pretty much their entire lives. SMH Yes, she is, but I think she just lacks a filter and says what ever pops in her head.
She may be a bit young and immature too. I'd like the opportunity to offer her charm school lessons. If ya know what I mean
I was just pointing out Katie's hotness to my wife last night during the show. She didn't agree with me. Apparently, a woman's actions can somehow negate their looks! Go figure! I tried explaining that through my eyes, physically attractive women will always be physically attractive, no matter how bad the attitude, no matter how rude, no matter how mean...but, here is the kicker, as I've grown older I have found that ladies who might be considered "middle of the road" do get bump-up points based on personality/actions etc. Does that make sense? |

Master![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Another meh episode last night. I'm really just about over this show in general which is fine by me. I can devote that one hour a week doing something else. Slowly but surely I'm getting burned out on shows like this but picking up shows like Downton Abbey. If you haven't see this show it's really good. Check it out on Netflix or Amazon Instant Video |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Just getting caught up. Yeah, a meh episode...was good to see them driving themselves...can't believe TWO speeding tickets! I was proud of the boys getting that road block on the first try. Even the hicks are starting to improve...she still has a lot of road blocks to catch up on though. Preview says no episode next week but they go to Switzerland next...that will be a breath of fresh air for them....and more people will speak English! :D |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() This episode felt like a whole lot of train riding with a few short challenges. I officially dislike Chuck...he is kinda rude. Still stinks to lose out because of a penalty...I wonder how explicit the directions were.... I am surprised they made it this far though.... However...it's not lost upon me that if Chuck had done the roadblock they probably would have made the train and not been eliminated... |

Totally agree. This episode was one of the most boring and poorly thought out episodes in AR history (in my opinion). The cheese wheel episode from back in the day was my all-time favorite challenge. Hello producers, when the wheels are on snow...it's BORING! Watching the wheels roll down a huge hill was hilarious. 2 feet of powdered snow? Not so much. C'mon Amazing Race, you can do better. p.s. Katie's still hot.

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I don't agree that the cheese/snow situation wasn't funny - I was laughing! Anyway, I am really glad how it turned out. If YouTube had lost after running the whole way I would have felt bad, not to mention I am SOOO glad to get rid of Chuck!!! |

Yeah, it wasn't even like they really had to THINK hard...European rail systems are so straight forward...if you have the name of a city and you go into any train station they can easily tell you exactly how to go. Would have been more fun if they had to drive themselves or if they had to somehow figure out clues to figure out the city. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() When I was in Switzerland year before last, I struggled a bit with the trains. I think for the same reason these guys might struggle - fatigue. I am a pretty experienced European train traveler and we had to ask for help at times. For instance, they seemed to be looking for THEIR destination on the signs but of course the sign shows the ultimate destination. When you're rushed it's easy to run to the wrong track, which might be quite far and up and down a long series of tunnels. In the Zurich airport, where they bought the train tickets for Grindelwald, I absolutely couldn't find that down escalator to the platform. We flew in from Minneapolis (via Chicago) and were tired, just like these guys. The Zurich airport is big. There were so many blue signs with pictures that they all blended together and it was strange, a stairway to the train right in the middle of what looks like a mall and not a long tunnel to get there (which is more common). Also, I think it was pretty exciting that two teams didn't make the connection! It really changed things for YouTube. I actually did the whole Grindelwald/Jungfrau thing in 1995. The train to the Jungfrau is not a regular Swiss train. It's a cogwheel thing and you do get on at the regular train station, but it's not as straightforward. I imagine they thought more people would freak about the height on the gnome rescue challenge and often dogs can be real trouble. It actually made me a little sick to watch them pulling those dogs! I do think they should have had to do a challenge WITH the dogs, but whatever. Every team also seemed exhausted. |

Master![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Pretty good episode last night. Germany is always cool. I was raised in the 80's and remember all the news moments with Reagan and such so I was dumbfounded why the contestants didn't get the Reagan quote right away but don't ask me about any famous speeches in the 70's besides "I'm not a crook".
Easy to judge from the comfort of our couch. Close call for Bates and Anthony.

Did they ever say what happened to the back pack... What I recall is that he said he had it on the train, but how doe sit just walk away? At least he learned from past mistakes though... your passport needs to stay on your person in deep cover at all times! I'm not real invested. I hope final three is hockey players, singers, and moms. Newly weds are silly. And my prediction for next week is that something will happen and You tube guy will scream like a little girl. OK, sorry, that was insulting to little girls. Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() More venting from me, sorry. The show just seems to be making it too easy for the teams. Okay, strap yourself in and fly down the side of the building. Okay, if a person's corpse can execute the challenge just as easily as a live body, it isn't very challenging. Then, we get the funhouse. Wow. The people didn't even have to navigate back through the funhouse. Too easy. ...and no offense to folks without brains...but not knowing it was JFK with the famous quote?...there should be some sort of time penalty issued. I have to think the German patrons there answering the question without hesitation had to be thinking, "God, these Americans are stupid." Thank God Katie's there for me to drool over. There's just not much going on in this year's season. |

But there is AT MOST one more NE leg left...so, they need to stay on their toes! Double U-turn next week! Woot! |

I honestly didn't know that was a JFK quote. Never heard it in my life.
Katie is a fox.
The roller derby moms annoy me for some reason. Maybe it was earlier in the season when the skinny one was yelling at the not as skinny one to hurry up. You knew what kind of shape she was in before coming on this show and physical tasks were going to be more difficult for her kind of like the Alabama Team. |
![]() ![]() |
Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Roller Derby moms were the first team in Amazing Race history to come in last on a non-elimination leg. Then have to do a speed bump AND a U-turn on the next leg.....AND not come in last!! I really want Max and Katie GONE. After Max gave youtube & the derby moms the double bird a couple weeks ago, I just wanna punch him in the throat!! The country girls are hot, BUT SWEET CHOCOLATE BABY JESUS, they are true blondes!! Driving with the parking brake engaged.....SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?!

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() It is working out the way it should. Figured it would be either Bloggers or Roller Moms out yesterday and the other next week. The girls have done nothing but ride on the Hockey brothers coattails since day 1. Bates and Anthony deserve to win this. I do think the challenges this season have been some of the lamest yet. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() The roller derby moms stayed in it with good old fashioned hustle...I like hustle. Of course, they probably would have been right there with the other teams if they hadn't ended up on the later flight they thought was an earlier flight. CRAZY. Yeah, I guess now my vote is for Bates and Anthony though...of the teams left they are the ones I would like to see win. |

Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I really didn't like you tube team. Annoying. I'm good with the Moms, or the Players. Newly weds and Singers I don't care about. |
![]() ![]() |
Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I think the Roller Derby Moms lucked out BIG time with the double U-Turn. Every extra task, while a risk, will also allow for a cushion of time to grow. They were determined and focused. I know You Tube just didn't have the stamina to pull it off. Not knowing the actual time difference, of course, I thought You Tube did a surprisingly good job of sticking with it. The navigational skills of the Moms bugs me though. They need to stop, formulate a plan with real directions, then drive. When they almost lost the game in Berlin it was really frustrating. The navigator is USELESS with maps. Apparently they can't use the GPS built into the car, which I get, but it's a shame. I like Bates & Anthony over all. I think they are really great at the physical tasks, though, and they might be boned if the final stage requires something more intellectual. That's basically how Beakman pulled ahead last season, so we'll see if the producers go that direction again. If they do, I think Max & Katie have the best chance. I was thinking about Max & Katie. In the beginning they painted the picture of Katie being an unfriendly non-people person, but I wouldn't say that has played out much. She is mostly quiet and mostly nice, although she is quick to wrinkle her nose. I wonder if that was a tactic to confuse the other teams, or if she doesn't have a realistic view of herself, or if she's actually gotten nicer through playing the game. She's obviously very smart, and probably OCD (based on her profession and the ridiculously fancy hair). She just needs to grow up a bit. Edited by BikerGrrrl 2013-04-30 9:45 AM |

Master![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Was hoping the Roller Derby Moms went home. Something about them just rubs me the wrong way... I'm not sure what it is. Maybe in the beginning the skinny one was really giving the less skinny one a really hard time.
I've been pulling for Bates and Anthony since the father and son had to quit. Bates is a beast picking up the barrels of whiskey on his shoulders.
Max and Katie are growing on me and they are on a hot streak. Very interesting coming down to the end.

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Even if I didn't know the derby moms personally, at this point they would be my favorites. The country singers are dumb as a box of rocks.(HOT, but dumb) Max and Katie.......well Katie seems nice enough. But, Max is a d-bag!!! Then there's Bates and Anthony, aka former Professional hockey players. I'm pretty sure I mentioned this a while ago.....but.......I'm tired of seeing pro athletes and actors/actresses on shows for us "regular folks." I'll root against them every time. They've already had their "15 minutes" and have made their their money via six figure/million dollar contracts!!! If they want to be on a reality show, there's one called Dancing With The Stars or pretty much anything on the E Network! Just sayin'
I was bummed when the father son team had to withdraw due to the dad's Achilles injury. They were my second favorite team. I REALLY hope the producers bring them back on a future season of TAR Edited by Dino019 2013-04-30 3:20 PM |
