Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: September "Your Choice" Challenge peto_primo - 2012-09-12 2:45 PM My bike rides keep getting pre-empted (or laziness sinks in- don't want to fix the flat I found yesterday morning) or just soft - don't feel like going for a ride in the rain. Hopefully I can keep the overall average outside of Taser range (?whats that? 30 meters??) Not gonna tell you. Wouldn't want to have you let down your guard. But you might want to think about either fixing that flat, just in case the Taser catches you off-guard. It's been awhile since I got to use my Tasers. I'm feeling highly motivated about it.

Who'd have guessed that's the one I'd be lagging on? LOL Then again, I really don't need a lot of flexibility to zap people with a Taser. I always forget to stretch! I'm glad yoga is one of my challenge goals -- otherwise I'd probably never go. Going to another yoga class tonight though! You better start stretching! Who tasers the taserer? Ha! No one. I'm too evil for a mere tasering. But yes, I really should go do some of that stretchy stuff. Bleh. I think ALL of US should aim tasers at YOU if there is no stretching done!! OK, that motivated me. I'll get some stretching done. I did set a goal for it because I need it, after all. Bleh. Just because I am not in the challenge any more, doesn't mean I won't use my taser (evil laugh). |

There is no way to make my goals and I woke up this morning (after 10 days on antibiotics) with a temperature, sore throat and ear infection. DAM!! I am afraid of taking another round of antibiotics that may make the tendon burst again like last year. sigh. Can they do a culture to find out what the infection is, and which antibiotic would be effective? If you've been on this one for so long, it sure doesn't seem like it's the correct one to be using. And no, I won't taser you for dropping out. If you're sick, you need to go get better. |

I hope you recover soon. If an antibiotic causes a tendon issue you should NOT get that antibiotic again. I know Julie, I am terrified of any antibiotics at this point. I am going to wait a couple of days and see what happens before going back to the doc. I am thankful it isn't anything like a big disease or anything. Just a big PITA! GREAT and I just called you Julie instead of Judy... Maybe I'd better get checked out sooner.... sorry. I wonder if she'd answer to Julie. Hm. Maybe we should start calling her that and see if she replies. Heh, she'll definitely want to taser me even more now. LOL |

Got home last night and had a soft front tire on my mtn bike. Was flat later so at 10:00 pm I patch that one - in fear of tasering, I continue on and patch the rear on the road bike. With that, was able to get out for a few miles (1 hour) after work and before dinner. Hopefully putting more distance between me and the TASER !!!! |

Royal(PITA) 14270 West Chester, Ohio | Subject: RE: September "Your Choice" Challenge BigDH - 2012-09-13 10:30 PM Yes they can, Darren. LEVAQUIN and other Quinalones (cipro and avelox) have a thing for the achilles specifically, though they can affect any other tendon. We think that some of the long issues I had with my gastrocs injury wtemmed from use of Quinalones prior to it and my primary marked my chart as an allergy to the med so he won't give it to me again. Literature says if there is suspicion of quinalone induced tendinopathy that the person should ot get the quinalones again.D001 - 2012-09-13 11:07 AM do antibiotics cause tendons to burst. And no, I won't taser you for dropping out. If you're sick, you need to go get better. The class of antibiotics I referred to weaken it. An endurance athlete should avoid this class of drug unless there is no other option because of allergies or the organism that the Doc is hitting for is most susceptible to this drug and resistant to a lot of others (which will ONLY be known if they do cultures!) If you must take the med, cut back the volume and intensity. Sadly, the tendinopathy can occur as soon as a few hours after the initial dose (if given in an IV bag) to up to 6 months after. |
