kns57 - 2008-06-04 10:35 AM hello Nibbs, I'm so glad we are Nibbs again. Anyone want a kitten? Frank and I were leaving the tennis courts on Monday night and found two very young kittens that someone had dumped. Since we have two cats and are going on vacation next week I'm busy trying to find a home for them. They are so cute.

not sure what my mini dachshunds would think of that - LOL

MOrnin' Nibbs...

Busy mornin'... it's raining and I can't keep moving... did the unthinkable... caffeine before massage... going get hips worked on...

LATER

One of these days, I should try getting a massage. It sounds soooo nice. (But it's also sooo expensive that it's tough for me to justify. I don't work out enough to argue that it's a requirement.)

I'm just lucky that I've found a therapist that gives discounts for multiple sessions (and she's awesome)... I end up paying $48 an hour.... sometimes I use them fast, sometimes slow....

that's a good deal!

there, fixed it - LOL

I am ready for a nap.

It's actually nice out (even though the forecasters called for rain most of the day)...so I bailed on my co-worker for a ride this morning. I'm a bad person. (I just called and checked my messages at home and he called to ride at lunch time.)

I'm going to go for a long run, I hope, this afternoon...but I can't leave yet, because then I'll be too sweaty and gross to come back to work before I pick up the Monkeys.

(Careful timing is a mom's best friend. Work until 2-ish. Run to 3:30ish. Pick up Monkeys around 4-ish. Home to shower before cooking dinner at 5-ish.)

And I want a cookie.

Some positive news on my uncle!

thank you for all of your prayers and good thoughts!

They determined the best option is to install a heart pump to replace the lost functionality of the left side of his heart - he underwent surgery this morning - the pump is now in and working.  An early result - but significant.  He is still "critically stable", but is turning the corner

My own father could write a series of books on that. They're bummed today... my mom was supposed to have her other eye fixed for cataracts today, but yesterday, she accidentally glued her eye shut with nail glue that she kept by the surgery prep eye drops goofing around with my Dad... grabbed the wrong bottle. So she's probably going to have 3 or more weeks until she heals enough for the surgery.

yikes!

Spokes, I can totally see my parents doing something like that.  They are constantly joking around with each other.

And, as far as cataract surgery, I hear it is the best corrective surgery available. My father in law is an optometrist and joked that he could just give me cataract surgery instead of LASIK or PRK.  I declined.

Being able to tease each other like that is a sign of a healthy relationship, methinks.

I'd have to agree.

okay... remember that I am from the DEEP south...

Talking to coworker about the "lake" we're swimming in this weekend.
She mentions to remember don't swallow and I jokingly reply... "I'm just going to take a shot of whiskey after the finish line, that'll kill any bacteria I swallow"

Now my southern mentality is starting to wonder if it wouldn't be such a bad idea????

A Victory Shot!!!!

Yep, it's mean weather outside again, and yep, I'm thinkin' of hiding bikes again.
When is swim coach going to learn not to leave $6K bike at work?
This time it's his bike and coworker #1's brand new bike "locked" in coworker's #2's office... thing is the key to that office can be found in many places...

Oh goody, coworker #2 just texted and agree'd to Hide lock the bikes in my office tonight.

I'm tellin' those dark clouds do somethin' to me....  whiskey, grand bike theft safety (at least there are only 6 or so keys to my office of which only a few people have access to)

The way it happened... she and Dad give each other guano all the time, and Dad said "I'll bet you can't put those drops in without opening your mouth" so she was trying to prove him wrong and grabbed the wrong bottle.

Dad feels G_U_I_L_T_Y - I can hear it in his voice. And he damn well should LOL

God god, they're in their mid 70s, you'd think they'd be smarter than this.

Does it help to know I saw a lot of little old ladies accidentally put nail glue in their eyes over the years I spent in the ER??
