Mornin Everybody!!!

Question,  I'm really struggly with the nutrition side of things.  I've lost a bunch of weight and would like to loose about 10lbs more but I think I am going about it wrong.  I think maybe I'm not getting enough calories and or maybe the right kind.  Can anyone point me in the right direction to some good reading material or any thoughts?  I'm headed to the library today (G has girl scouts and its held there) so I thought I could look for a few good books on nutrition.  More than loose the numbers on the scale though I'd like to trade the flab for muscle.

Check out "The Paleo Diet for Athletes". It's co-written with Joe Friel and specifically addresses the needs of endurance athletes. It's the best "diet"/nutrition book I've ever read. I've been following the eating plan for a little over a week now, and I have more energy and far fewer food cravings. Too soon to tell about weight loss, but I haven't gained and am actually eating more than before.

Thanks for that I will.

If you PM me your age and weight I can give you a very detailed plan.  I'm not an expert but I have read a lot and did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

LOL!

x2!!!

OMG!! LOL that made me laugh, thank you.  I will PM you probably later tonight after chicken fajitas

We're having a snow storm here, I am not even sure that we will have master swimmers tonight.

Maybe it would be fun to get the mountain bike out in the snow storm tonight :p

Thats just sick and twisted.

Blah, masters swimmer got cancelled because of the storm. So I rode for 20 min or so instead ... but I stayed inside on the trainer finally.

Evening all!!

Oh man I feel old, I sneezed and sent my back muscles into a spasm.   Here's what happened-

Well the last few days my back muscles have been sore.  Woke up two days ago like this (usually how it happens) and I thought today I was getting better.......then I sneezed.  I layed on the floor to do some gentle stretching and couldn't get back up.   Hubby had to pick me up.  Put some heat on it and did some gentle stretching of the neck.  Its getting better I can turn my head now and get up and move around slowly.

Any tips on dealing with cranky muscles and when to back off training and when to start up again?

so, seriously - you need to go have this checked out - you may have sneezed your pelvis out of alignment

sounds crazy, but it happened to me

do you know a good chiro or PT?

The main problem area is right at the base of my neck in the middle.  An out of aligned pelvis sounds REALLY bad.   I'm hopeing that I will feel better in the morning.

Also, I was planning on cleaning the house tonight cuz tomorrow afternoon we have friends from out of town coming.  This is going to be interesting.

I'm having one of those "why did I get out of bed days." Finally slept great, although not long enough, and woke up with a massive, borderline migraine type headache. So there went my morning run. Then I figured I'd get to Brooklyn early. But other moving responsibilities took over and I ended up on the phone. I missed a very important work-related call and then got to Brooklyn and realized I left my phone charger in Manhattan and of course my battery is in the red. I better get a lot of painting done to make up for it!!!

Afternoon all!

Well I am feeling MUCH better today.  Not I just have a small knot in my back.  Have been lightly stretching it all day and its doing better.

Just finished cleaning the house friends from out of town are dropping by and not sure how long they are staying.  /:|

Going to try to squeeze in a run as soon as I get off the computer, hopefully that doesn't mess with my back.

Hope to catch up more with ya'll later.

Mel
