Team name suggestion

In honor of Bill's tour, and since he was calling people out (in a friendly way) for people to challenge his mileage...

How about "Bill Rakers"...being that Bill's posting status is "Muck Raker"

IDK...I'm one to always poke fun

another 5 mile run in the books.  So far I'm on track with the run...which is the goal I haven't been able to make the last 2 months.

Hi team,

Today was a travel day for me; my next workout is a metric century on Sunday (actually 64 miles). Lousy, stressful drive from Maryland to Albany, NY.

Finished my swimming intervals tonight.  I wanted to quit so bad...but as they say...when you aren't training (or training hard), there's someone out there right now that is.

Ended up averaging about 1:34 for my 10x100's @ 2 minute send offs and averaging 0:47 for my 10x50's @ 1 minute send offs.  I've done better with the 50's before, but the 100's were the fastest I've done, and I did it on less rest.  Last week I averaged about 1:36 while sending off @ 2:10.  So there is some progress.

I must admit...Satan himself must have invented swimming intervals...but I have gotten so much faster doing them.  I guess it's like selling your soul to the devil...LOL

Intervals are my favorite...doesn't matter what s/b/r ...running intervals are my favorite though ....I can't wait till I'm out of the prep phase and start adding in some intervals hahaha ( even though I still do sometimes just to feed a little speed to the legs) lol

Weather prediction for tomorrow's ride: Temperature: 64-67F; Chance of rain: 50%; Humidity: 90-78%; Wind: 4-10mph. Not quite what I was hoping for.

I don't know what it is about swim intervals.  I actually like bike and run intervals, but swimming.....Yuck!  Kudos to you, man

The rain they predicted for today was nowhere to be seen so I got out and did an easy 20 on the bike.  Just a test ride to make sure everything is working smoothly for tomorrow's sprint tri

Oye!  I ran a 2 mile women's race today.  I pushed baby in the stroller.  We finished in 15:41.  That hurt!  I got 2nd in the stroller division and 11th of 231 ladies!  Whew!

might need to adjust my goals this month.  Crashed on the bike today after running over a good sized branch (effectively it was like running over the barrel of a baseball bat) hammering 25 mph down a flat.  Couldn't see it coming with the 2 riders in front of me narrowly missing it and went over the bars.

Not sure how...but I only have some road rash on my left arm.  My shoulder is completely fine, and didn't hit my head.  My bike is actually fine too.  Lost an end cap on my brakes, but that's it...the bike ended up getting tangled in my legs so it didn't go flying.

Swimming might be totally out of the question for a couple weeks as one of the scrapes is fairly deep, and the thought of showering a couple extra times after working out just doesn't sound fun in the next few days.

I can't complain though...if you told me the circumstances, I would have guessed a separated shouder, broken collar bone, and a concussion.

Oh my gosh!!!  How do you feel this morning?  Please get your bike checked out by your LBS.  Take care of that road rash.

I'm heading out for a 10 mile run.  I'm not sure how it's going to feel after yesterday's run.  I lots of places where I can cut the run short if necessary.  I'm stubborn, though.  I'll probably just gut it out.  Have a great day everyone!

muscles are a little sore today, but nothing major.  My neck is a little tight, but I think that's more to do with the fact I couldn't sleep in a comfortable position.  My shoulder is also tight, but no pain in the joint or bones.  I think I also strained my left calf...must have tweaked it when the bike got stuck in my legs.

But again...nothing major.  If I'm not doing some form of training by Friday I would be very dissapointed in myself.  Now the problem is to control me eating somehow.

I PM'd Dee...so all my goals are going to need to be readjusted

Take care of yourself! If there's any chance you helmet hit pavement then it should get replaced; better safe than sorry.

I did 64 miles of riding today as part of the American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure. I rained, it was cool, but it could have been a lot worse. So far I've raised $1500 but I'm still taking donations. Could you help? Thanks!

Week 1 Challenge Update!

Team Bill -- Well, I guess that Bill will have to update us on his status.
BUT -- if you haven't checked out his blog, there's a really cool GPS tracker on it. Want to be awed at the mileage being racked up? Click here:
http://share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?glId=0FyaKmo...

Team 3 - 11.6%
Team 2 - 10.4%

The month is now 20% over. So get out there and run/bike/swim/whatever!

- Dee

Scary stuff, Jay!  Like everyone else has said, double/triple check the bike and helmet.  Other than that, heal quickly and hope you're on the road again sooner rather than later.
