It is.  I wonder if it's a "copy cat" or it gave someone an idea.  Or completly non related.

for real. ha!!

Does this mean you will have more time to play on the internet?

That intrigues me.

ha

yes...being let go has its pluses

Tongue out

Sharyn, I am still trying to catch up, but is this for certain tomorrow?

i'm relatively certain.

here's the summary of events...

recruited away from last employer to head up a pilot program/dept here. economy is tough. sales is tough. i'm good at sales, but i'm not harry potter. i tried. i lost some confidence, but kept trying. not meeting expectations. but i think the expectations were too high for a pilot dept. that said...boss sent me an invitation. didn't say what about. just said to meet in office. so, i'm assuming here it's to be let go. i could be wrong...and it could be ...'let's wipe the slate clean, we're going to give you more time.' kinda thing. but, i have a sinking feeling, it's to let me go. and really, it's because i'm too expensive to keep on. and 'new' programs are always the first to be axed if companies are cutting costs....so

that's in in a nutshell.

Aw, that sucks.  With any luck he is going to give you an alternative such as you suggest of 'lets wipe the slate clean' or we are going to shut the program down and we want you to work over in this dept now.  Keep your chin up!

Nope. 1 more week. Still have some loose ends to tie up. I'm not killing myself to get them done, though.

Yeah, I think I might take a break as well.  I can't decide what to do next, but know I want to take a break from the computer.

I will be back later if anyone wants to play.

OH!  Speaking of jobs.  I got a notice that a local CE job opened up yesterday.  I was told that I would be contacted today after they review my resume (this was an email from my headhunting company).

After 10 months of unemplyment, and everything else.  This could be the the BEST Christmas present ever (well, after a clean bill of health).

Keeping my fingers crossed.

stay away from facebook...it's evil! Tongue out

Tell me about it...  That's what all the hullabaloo was about with my family...  AND it's been acting up on me today.  It says I have comments, but when I go look there are none.  They keep disapearing...  Odd.  There may be something amuck with their server today?

Besides, the most fun is had privately...

I have no practical experience, but I suspect that could be accurate.

Today we had a formal celebration/milestone event at work and invited the media (yay! my job!). The program worked very hard on the event planning, agenda, speakers, etc. Everything came together, good to go.

But this morning, our President/CEO shows up to the event and was not originally on the agenda to speak (he wasn't even supposed to be in town). Someone asked if he wanted to speak, he says yes, and ends up being the main event! He is a phenomenal speaker - inspiring, motivating, and genuine. It was a real treat, except I found it hilarious - and somehow fitting - that months of planning was completely unraveled with one conversation.

A lesson in flexibility for sure.
