Thought I was going to be able to do B2B Half this year but that was scrapped. The heat/humidity is going to suck but it's time for me to step my game up anyways!

Yes, but it is more than that now.  The IM 70.3 Raleigh Facebook page stated that 2250 will be allowed to race and earlier this week a post was made that only 100 slots were left.  At this point, a minimum of 2150 have signed up (assuming everything posted is true)

Yes, but not everyone checks the box to "share" their info when they register.

I can attest as of one of them who did not.  Did not read that choice correct when I registered and unchecked the box.  Awesome to see such a great response.

Signed up as a training race for IMLOU ' 13.  Gotta get that heat training in.  Besides, how can you not a race a course that is literally in your back yard!   Good times ahead.  We should organize some group training sessions when the date gets closer.

Also in...

When I finished my first HIM on Saturday I said never again - guess it's like childbirth - you forget the pain pretty quickly. But the run goes 2 blocks from my house, and I knew I'd be sad sitting on the sidelines watching everyone go by.

Woohooo!

You guys totally saved me.  I was procrastinating and probably would have been closed out (which is becoming a habit with me... I got closed out of the B2B half and had to pay for a charity spot... at least that one was for a good cause).  Thanks!

Same here... I've been waiting.  Just signed up.  Will be my tune-up for IM Switzerland.

Does anyone else find it funny that they stated less than 100 spots left and the participant list had around 1950, and now there are over 2100 on the list and the event is still open?

relay slots sold out, less then 25 slots left, so the event will sell out in 3 weeks total and become the largest Triathlon in the Carolina's. Not to bad

Well if you wanted in you are now out of luck.

FB says they are officially sold out and Active shows general entry on hold with 2217 viewable sign-ups.

Any idea what the water temp might be that weekend?  If I need to think about a wetsuit, I need to start socking away money now.

The water could possibly be wetsuit legal on June 2 next year, but even if it is, the water will be warm enough that a wetsuit will not be "necessary".

ETA:  I just remembered that Ironman and Ironman 70.3 races have different wetsuit cut-offs vs regular USAT races.  I'm going to say that it will not be wetsuit legal according to Ironman rules.

I believe WTC is 76.1. Yesterday it was stated as 75 so was fully legal, and felt awesome, for the Finish Strong Half. I plotted temps from April to now, and on June 2 this year it was 79F.
