And here going away speach?  Blech.  "This changed my life forever, blah blah blah"  How long was she out there 6-7 days?

At 20 years old that is still a good % of her life

Oh, did anyone catch the scenes for the next show?

Was it me, or did it appear that the engineer PLANTED a clue?  Even if I read that wrong, it's a FABULOUS idea.

I was just thinking, in every other survivor, they always destroy the clue to not get caught with it.  But that would be a perfect way to plant evidence and create trust issues in alliances.

I can't recall anyone planting evidence before.  Such as stealing food or tools and putting them in someone elses posessions and try to have them explain it away.  it could be an awesome play.

True.  BTW, where was her parents when she decided to put in volleyballs?  I'm not complaining, but dayum, she's young to have to deal with that/those her whole life.  And they are big...

KSH - 2012-10-08 8:07 AM I never get a lot of joy out of watching one tribe lose over and over again. It gets old... and kind of sad. I hope they mix up the tribes soon, or the losing tribe finally wins.

They will switch up the tribs this week or in two because they need even numbers.

The preview already makes it out as the current tribes competing in a challenge... so 3. we know the shuffle is coming soon which is cool.

I think the rant about the goggles breaking was because the guy said (this is hearsay from the "confessional") "don't dive in face first" and was telling people how to do the challange.  THEN the first thing he does is dive in face first himself and the google shatter...

So he was more made about the hypocracy, than the goggles breaking, is MY understanding.

I liked looking at little miss Utah, but she was basically worthless.  And her spending all that energy saying Russle is the weak link and that she wouldn't have given up in the challange and she COULD have done it if she HAD to do it, but since she didn't, should wouldn't...  and all that nonsense.  Just scrambling I guess.

And here going away speach?  Blech.  "This changed my life forever, blah blah blah"  How long was she out there 6-7 days?

Well that is how I took the goggles thing too, but it still seemed pretty over the top about a silly thing. But dude is pretty much a bull in a china shop. A clutzy one at that.

I only make fun of her because they are so ridiculous. She is very pretty and petite. I can understand if she want some... but those totally do not match her frame. And those are not even augmented... those are porn star size reconstructions, and she does not seem the type that would be going after the porn star look. It just does not add up. Way too far.

Russel LOOKS fit.  But is he just a gym rat who lifts to get all buff but doesn't do an ounce of cardio?

Oh, and if you are going to be on survivor, TAKE A FREAKING SWIMMING LESSON.  Sheesh.

I don't remember if he had any swimming challenges when he was on before but he's more of the brute strength gym rat, which has it's uses but "usually" in survivor it's a puzzle or endurance type of challenge.  I do remember some challenges where you had to lift really heavy stuff and I remember Russell Hantz on his first season first episode lifting up a huge pile of something all at once like a beast.  Then he started playing and I didn't like him but he's strong as an ox.

It does seem like Russell helps at camp as compared to Miss Utah

It's all he has to do. But he should have figured out from the last rodeo that it isn't all about strength, and maybe some P90X would do him some good. He has zero stamina. And all the strength stuff is first week... after that they are all pretty much shot and they start going more to stamina, puzzle stuff.

I can't say how long he will be in the game, but unless he finds the idol, winning challenges is not going to be part of his strategy and he will be an easy out.

Jtiger - 2012-10-08 8:14 AM If I remember right,  during the TV Guide channel preview for the season Probst said "beach balls" wouldn't last long and it turns out he was right.  Malcom is there to win or maybe they weren't really a couple as Roxy tried to make it out to be.  I probably would have kept her around for the swap as a loyalty issue more than a team strength issue.  A swap is coming.  No way you can field 6 vs 3 in challenges.  That would be to many people to sit out and not much fun to watch.

I think Malcolm knew a beach ball wasn’t going to go far and he wants to keep his alliance strong with the therapist so he let her go. Also beach balls did give up on the diving challenge no matter what she said.

I think she knew she couldn't do it and just let the swimmers go at it where Russell couldn't admit he isn't a good swimmer, or a good ladder climber.  I know it's easy sitting on the couch watching to judge but it looks like he just gave up.  Maybe Russell and the rest are tighter alliancewise than we've seen on the screen (editing).  He did vote out Roxy and the editing made it look like they were pretty tight.  It's hard to tell how close some of these guys are from how they edit the footage.  It should be interesting with the swap coming up to see how other tribes deal with losing a challenge.  They haven't had to deal with any of that yet.

I kind of agree.  I would rather someone sit out if they know others could do it better...instead of not wanting to bow out and ending up costing the team more.  It stinks for the people that end up doing extra work, but it's beneficial for EVERYONE if your team doesn't LOSE.  I realize as a good swimmer I'd probably end up doing a lot...just like RC did a bunch of dives for her team.

Yep, stranger things have happened. I won't count anyone out. But for a returning player, he does not seem to be in a advantageous position.

But it sort of sucks... not only did you make the cut and get on the greatest game ever... you actually did it twice... and this is all you have? In general, I do not like retuning players. I know there is a crap ton of applicants. I would love to play. But maybe they are really that good at picking players... that among all those applicants, these are the only good ones that ill make a competitive game. IDK.

I'm not against all star seasons... that's cool. I don't mind if you bring a lot back. That is interesting in itself when everyone has seen most of the players.

That was a whole lot of boring.... well there was irritating.... and then more boring. What ever, it's still early.

OK, so Abi... well we know who they picked to play psycho this season. Who goes on Survivor and act's that way... well besides Abi. Does she actually think that is going to get her a million dollars? I mean so what... a player did something... wow what a shocker... others are trying to play the game and they did something and didn't include you. Wow.

And Pete... brilliant! Russel hiding machetes and throwing socks in the fire... I never got that. There did not seem to be a benefit. Pete pitting girl against girl and throwing out some drama... wow, nice play. It sucks though. Perhaps RC is irritating around camp, but all of a sudden she is the one out. Trip. I figured she would be tough.

Russel... thank God that is over with. Perhaps he is a great guy in real life, but he is annoying on Survivor. And I can understand he really wanted this and at every turn it did not go his way... oh well. Deal with it. Malcolm and Denise are.

I missed the whole challenge but the very end... local news broke in about the girl missing here... it was on national news. Did Russel do OK. I heard Malcolm say it was his fault. Once again Survivor edits it like it could be anyone going home, but every single vote has been the same.

So they didn't preview it, but now what? Two players can't go to tribal. Just swapping players for the challenge does not fix it...they have to shuffle. They could even shuffle to three tribes again, one would be one short. Another med evac could do away with council.

Russell gased again and freaks out again. Abi is a nut job. I'm looking forward to the reunion to see what she says about being wrong, but nut jobs rarely care, apologize, or even think they did anything wrong. The sex therapist is a brute. Beginning to be a fan. I knew it was a great idea to plant "evidence" and said that last week. I hope he can keep it up and not have it backfire. Abi is the perfect puppet to play doing that. Other than that, not much to say this week.

Abi is the perfect person to play because she leads with her emotions and she is an angry/jealous/spiteful person so that is very easy to play but he is doing a great job. I hope they call her out for being a be-otch in the reunion show to see her reactions.

I thought Survivor had a rule that you cant sit out the same person two challenges in a row?  Same rule should apply to the three team format.  Had that rule been in place, I think that Matsing wouldve won.  The only one I can remember sitting out of last weeks challenge was Lisa, and I dont see her doing well with the rice pots and obstacles.. or at least she wouldnt have done as well as any the 3 males.

That's what I thought.  Abi didn't swim in the previous episode and neither did the tattooed gal.  Would have made a world of difference.

Russell definitely sealed his own fate with his explosion after the loss. A guy like him would be better to have around late in the game. NO ONE would vote to give him the money. But right now, get rid of the dude.

Love the therapist. She had some serious guns on her when she was carrying those pots.

They have to shuffle things up this week. Blair must be loving the infighting on the team. She was on the chopping block bigtime.

Who gets hurt next week? It was definitely framed like it was Jeff Kent and his knee.

But they can change the rules how ever they want. This is the first time for 3 teams. Before they had reward challenges and immunity challenges and teams would sit strong players for reward and weak for immunity. So it is what it is.

But I do agree with you guy... It would be cool if the rule was still in place. Seems like a glaring oversight because now one team is getting killed. They had to play with fewer players in some of the challenges, and also had to go up against the strongest last night. Survivor does a good job of trying to keep things competitive. I have no doubt it was discussed, but it seems it would have been better forcing all players to play.

I like Malcom, think he will go far.

I also like the guy that planted the clue. that was brilliant.

So who does medical come for next week? Is it Jeff Kent???

Which is why I'm guessing it's not (typical misdirection).  It looked to me like some kind of infection someone had (very short split second shot of the medics pulling back a blanket)...

But I'm just guessing.

I'm curious why no one said anything to Russell about throwing the pot.  In the real world, I would tell someone to chill the ef out...  But I guess in the game, just sit back and let that stuff happen.  Only seals their fate.

Ya.. editing sure makes it interesting. Every vote so far it is shown like nobody knows what will happen... yet they all go down according to plan. Even last night, that was ridiculous. Russel has nothing to do with anything... Malcolm and Denise stick together no matter what... that is their best play. Worrying about who will be a threat at the end of the game is stupid when you are just trying to get past the next council. They snuffle, merge and they have a strong ally in each other...that is the right play. But they tried to twist into to something it was obviously not and dragged it out much longer than it needed to be.

I think you are right about Kent.... it is probably someone else... Stupen has an infection???

But did you notice, Kent had knee braces on... where did those come from?

Yeah, the whole premise of "survive with what you have plus a luxury item" can't be true.  People end up getting a lot of stuff along the way.  I sill wonder how the blokes stay smooth shaved for over a month.  I would have a pretty good start on a beard by then.  I'm sure they give them stuff like that to look good for the cameras...

As others have said that is definitely a reward an immunity thing...so, without pure reward challenges the rule didn't apply...and it isn't being very fair right now!

The only reason I can see for not having reward challenges is that they thought they would need more TV time to cover three separate tribes...and by getting rid of pure reward challenges that freed up TV time.  But I was hoping they'd be back by now.  I'm ready for a shuffle...otherwise this is going to turn into the same thing as other seasons with two evenly matched teams.
