ironannekidd - 2013-03-06 7:32 AM Yesterday it was warmish, my crocus' were blooming, the kiddos and I were outside doing stuff for a little over an hour and a half yesterday afternoon. Today - SNOW. I'm tethered to my computer until 1:00, but I'm thinking about sitting it on a bar stool beside the treadmill so I can walk, I really don't have anything to do at work today, I just have to be online. Donnie is making breakfast and cleaning up in the kitchen. Caleb already ran the vaccuum this morning, and is cleaning up his room. Keri is cleaning up her room. I'm playing on the computer, what a good morning so far.

News from the NC Ghoulies

We found out last Thursday that Jim has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. The very, very, very good news is that we caught it early and it is very treatable. I wanted to wait until we had the meeting with the doc last night to go over all the details and treatments before announcing it to you all. He will be having surgery instead of radiation. Get that evil out of there! It takes more to recover from the surgery, but the side effects, especially over time are less. He is really wanting to be over all of this so he can do his annual race in July (The Bear) and train for the MCM. Hopefully the surgery will be scheduled in the next couple of weeks so the 4-6 weeks of recover can get behind us.

Breathe in... Breathe out... this will be ok, it will just take a while.

I've met some safety officers who aren't the brightest crayons in the box. Actually... I've met all sorts of people that fit that description.

March is like that.. one day spring, the next winter. This weekend is looking like it will be mid to high 60s! I am planning on playing in the yard.

If anyone there gets bored, I have PLENTY of things (chores) that can be done here

I was supposed to go to Winston-Salem today. I just don't want to. It was just observing some haz waste treatment and there will be others there, so... I am staying home today.

It sounds like everyone is enjoying their Thursday.  I am not quite awake yet, so I don't know yet if I am.  However, I have coffee, a little dog in my lap, and am in Ghoulieville.  Can't be all bad!

I would like to win a lottery other than the Nigerian one, I sent them the processing fee, but I still haven't seen my millions. When I collect I'm quitting my job and moving somewhere that I can be outside every day!

Tomorrow is our first Friday of the new library hours.  Instead of closing at 3pm, we will be closing at 6pm.  Years back when we used to close at 6pm on Fridays the hour between 5 & 6 was dead.  I could understand extending our hours from 3 to 5, but not 6pm.  That is just plain stupid based upon statistics.  But of course, HQ is not affected by the hour changes.  They are still 8 to 4:30 every day.  Go figure.
