Forgot to add a race to the weekend schedule. My daughter Artemis at the ripe old age of seven is racing her first triathlon on Sunday. 100m OWS 3km ride and 500m run. Much excitement and nerves. Forecast 93!!!!! A manatee in the making.

Hot Hot Hot Racing Manatees!!!

Go Chad!!!
Go Salty!!!

Go Brie!!!
Go Jo Go!!!
Go Goody!!!

And for KirstenTejasMeJoFeliciaDaz ... warm gentle healing {MELON PRESS}!

Yeah ... it turned out there's a leetle bit more wrong than just the cracked rib. The scaphoid bone in the wrist seems to be in an odd position and and while that could be causing the wrist and finger pain, numbness, and weakness, it also looks like the upper rib and collarbone got ... well, whacked, which they did (just via the other side), which could explain the arm pain and swelling. Awesome!

Good luck everyone in your races this weekend. Have fun and kick butt.

Yanti how are they going to help those things heal, is it just a matter of time or surgery or what? Or do you have to wait until you get home to get that sort of treatment, I'm guessing travel insurance won't cover it.

Just being lazy today.  I've worked a total of 8 high school soccer matches this week and my legs are feeling abused.  Nothing serious or injurious, just very fatigued.    Was going to run a local 15k but didn't wake up in time to get there.  No matter as there is a 10 miler coming up in a few weeks.   There are also beaucoup 5k's and such as our local race season has begun in earnest.

Thanks for the birthday wishes.   I am a Lost Boy so don't much count them anymore.   Years that is.  Cool

I don't count the years, I make the years count!

Let those legs get some rest, that is a lot of soccer running!

I am finally back to my "normal" work days. Hopefully getting back to training this week also. Here are some cuteness (Pikatti the Puppy) update/pictures.

At the ski hill.Cuddling with my brother while the Dad's play poker. Daddy said something about going for a run. If i take his shoes can he run? Daddy wakes up way too early. Taking my first nap at 5:30am, he has been up for an hour already.

He is getting me trained and responsive to when he needs to go outside to go potty. We still have some accidents, but for only 1 week with me he is doing good. We have our first vet appointment in 2 weeks to make sure he has all of his shots and everything for traveling through Canada. We are also dealing with possibly having to move, the landlord says no pets, so we may be moving with 10 weeks left in Alaska.

I am counting down the days until I get to head towards the lower 48 and my kiddos. I am hoping to have travel plans cemented down this week to let people know who want to meet-up and get a work-out in.

I hope everyone is doing good. I hope to be able to get in here more now that work is a little lighter.

GOOD LUCK to everyone racing this weekend!

Be careful of that scaphoid bone, Yanti. If that's not allowed to heal properly it can lead to all manner of grief. It does not have the best blood supply and can be difficult to heal. An ex of mine, who was notorious for toughing things out ended up requiring a bone graft due to necrosis because he exercised the good ole Aussie " she'll be right mate"!

So I'm guessing that she had great fun. I bet you smiled all morning too.

Here in Perth they do a kids tri whenever they have an adults one, often they sell out quicker than the adults ones do. It's always great to watch how much they love it.

Yanti, oh dear Yanti... what ARE we going to do with youUndecided

As for me, I am breaking my streak today.Yell It was a tough call but I heard Salty's logic in my decision. My last few workouts, of all three disciplines, have been lack luster, no energy, no motivation, tough to get through. Yesterday and today my leg muscles were sort of burning I guess. Not really a lactic acid type soreness but more of a burn. I decidesd the body is tired and pushing through two more weeks until my taper was not a good idea, so I made a consious decision to give the legs/body the day off. I had a run scheduled but i'm not concerned about missing that. I knew Salty would shake her head at doing the training just for the sake of keeping the streak, so I broke it. Feels weird not doing a session today.
