OK.  Pet peeve rant...  And honestly, don't know why it bugs me SO much, but it does.

Just hopped over to the grocery store and walking through the isles and saw some old guy coming the other way not paying attention.  I scooted over to the left (I GUESS it should have been to the right, being in America and all)...

He turns around and get's startled that I'm standing there and give this big grunt of disgust and shakes his head like I'M doing it wrong and just made a huge inconvenience for him.

That complete over reaction to things like that just pizz me off.  Can't we all just sort of navigate this world?  If someone bumps you are is slightly in your way, can't you just adjust and carry on?

Occasionally, I say some chit back at them...  But mostly I just walk away aggravated, mostly.  Usually about 30 seconds after it passes, I wish I could have just point and laugh at them and the HUGE inconvenience I just put them through...

ETA:  I can't WAIT to be a grumpy old man with coke bottle bottom glasses and cuss out all the old whipper snappers that make me adjust the course of my shopping buggy.

You're talking like a Canadian now.  Watch it!  We have Monica, we can deport you to take her place...

My grocery store pet peaves are the people who still hand write checks, and the people who come to a complete and abrupt stop when they are clearly in a flow of moving people/carts. Like near the entrance/exit.

I have nearly rammed so many people with my cart because they decide at that very moment to stop and pull out their receipt to investigate a price or answer their phone or what not. I've never said anything, but it seems those folks are just compeltely oblivious to the world around them. Must be nice :p

This recent incident also reminded me of something that happened several years ago.

There was a cute old couple.  She was pretty mobile, but he was sort of just shuffling along.  I'm behind them thinking, aw, cute couple shopping together.  Sure, they are holding me up but I have nowhere to be so I will smile and be patient and follow along.  Didn't say anything and just hung out.

The lady turns around and sees me and I smile and she smiles then says excuse us and gently pulls her husband aside to let me pass (he still hasn't seen me).  Again, I'm not even asking for it.

He is confused at what's going on and then sees me and starts yelling, EVERYONE IS IN SUCH A G-DAMN RUSH and starts chastising me...

The wife was obviously mortified and told him to be quite, which only got him madder.  He probably thought I was being pushy, then threatening them enough to make her want to tell him to be quite...

So much for respecting my elders and showing courtesy.  I gave him a break cuz he was old.  But I was still a bit put off.  There is no need to go off like he did.

Again, to get old and say whatever you want to whoever you want, no matter how rude and offensive, must be liberating!

or just randomly put yourself in his way again in each new aisle that he goes to.

or slash the tennis balls on his walker.

I'm ashamed to say it, but I was 100 yards away from the store and still steaming and actually turned around to go back and do something like that.  Or find HIM going down the wrong direction and just make a scene.  Even took 3-4 steps back and suddenly thought, "what the hell am I thinking?  I'm insane to be this worked up".  Laughed and went back to the office.

Ok, all read up...Diet talk, weather talk, work talk, and a little "things that you off" talk....

What can I add...

Im stuck in Mexico for one more week (work talk), I am training for IMTX so I can pretty much eat what I want right now (diet talk), The weather is always nice here (weather talk), and I HATE it when people chew their food with their mouth open (Pet Peeve talk).

Morning TAN.  Double-header today.

First race is in the books, a 10-miler, the next one is in about 5 hours (marathon relay).

Beautiful weather for it all, too!

Time to "warm down" by doing some shopping.... I needs a new shirt for family photo's tomorrow.

Nice! Kids have a sleep over and just picked up some steaks, mushrooms, and a good bottle of wine. Its going to be a good night.
