I am a long ways away. I tried the leg lift thing for my plank today. Fell flat on my face. I heard my cat chortle!

Too funny.

Still planking at least one minute a day. January I had 53 plank minutes and 2100 crunches. Now if I could just lose that 8 pounds of fat protecting my abs.

Only 8 pounds? I have a case of beer protecting my abs :-). My everyday plank is up to 2 minutes though.

No kidding, ONLY 8 pounds? Let's just say my abs have lots and lots of protection. Got a 2 minute one in today with some arm pick ups. I figure I will be retired before I can do that routine

Planking just done. No cats mocking me.

Little progression lately. Do I have to up the repetitions to go past two minutes?

2 minutes is a long plank. Just keep doing those for a couple weeks then go for 2:15. Do that for a few weeks then go for 2:30. More reps will help too but patience is the main thing.

I feel that in planking a lot also has to do with pain toleration. The plank can hurt as hell after just 30 seconds some days, but if you keep at it I often manage to do well upto 1:30.

After managing a lousy 10 pushups, I have also started a pushup-every-second-day project now :-)

Well I think I may jump on this bandwagon a bit late of no one minds!  I see a lot of you in the other challenges so you have encouraged me to do this one as well.  I am on day #5 so I'm a bit behind!  I'm just at a 60sec plank.

Welcome Justin :-)

Plank-a-hoy, todays horizontal finished : 1:15, could maybe have pushed it to 1:30 if my spirit animal had been more motivating.

What is a realistic goal, 5 minutes before summer hits in july?

5 minutes is reasonable. I think I made it to 4 by June two years ago before I went on vacation and quit planking.

Still going strong here too! 2:19 plank done this morning @ work. Actually left sweat spots on my kneeling pad. I use it under my elbows for planks at work since the floor is concrete...
