TriBarbie - 2004-09-14 1:16 PM As a teenager I spent a summer or 2 with the nickname Barbie after applying a little bit too much "Touch of Sun" to my hair.

LOL...I had always wondered if there was also a "TriKen"

So Nancy, I don't understand from your explanation why you mis-spelled CARPE ?   I thought you were either Crappay Diem (like have a crappy day -not the fish!) or you were a CPA and botched up the spelling of that.  Hmm.

Inquiring minds wanna know!

Ahhh, so you noticed the play on the spelling, yes?
First time I ever tried to register it (think it was on aol) carpediem was taken..hence it b/c "crpadiem" ever since.
Later I realized it sounded like "crappy diem" but it stuck....
then I had a website for awhile www.crpadiem.net (think it's still there but now it forwards to my business website) where I had posted a lot of my writing...the tag line on the site under my logo "crpadiem" was: "I'm either seizing the day or writing about craaaap!"

So yes, there's a double meaning there....

I guess I have to reply now. I guess I would be the "tri-ken" as I am Tribarbie's husband, the reason my name is 'Tractoral is because my name is al and when we first got our computer the first forum I went on was a lawntractor forum as I was trying to fix a lawn tractor and wanted to go to the experts. It is just easy using the same username everywhere. Al.

Ooohhh....ok. The first time I read your name I read it as tract-oral.

The tri-ken thing is funny. My husband never posts on the same sites that I do. So when I meet people off of message boards in real life, he's pretty much known as "Mr. PirateGirl."

AVATAR
Pronunciation: `avu'târ

Definition: 1. [n] the manifestation of a Hindu deity (especially Vishnu) in human or superhuman or animal form; "the Buddha is considered an avatar of the god Vishnu"
2. [n] a new personification of a familiar idea; "the embodiment of hope"; "the incarnation of evil"; "the very avatar of cunning"

Synonyms: embodiment, incarnation

See Also: deification, Hindu deity, Jagannath, Jagannatha, Jagganath, Juggernaut, Kalki, Krishna, personification, Rama, reincarnation

Just incase anyone was wondering...I had to look it up 'cause I didn't know what it meant.

Um, my first name is Kim. My last name starts with a J. I was born in '81. I am also unoriginal and boring.

The pic is me rowing Hell's Half Mile rapid on the Green River. That was the best rapid ever. It's a III+ to IV- rapid with one really tough move. I watched everyone else in my group botch it and get stuck on one rock or another. Then I hit it better than anything I've ever done. It was awesome. That's my boat, Little Purple. She's the best. :-) We've had some good times together. *wishing she was on a river right now, instead of in a cubicle*

I tried to change the pic the other day, but it refused to change....

You have actually been a triathelite for awhile now Kim - literally in the picture in I mean ! - I haven't seen this boat you were referring to!

LOL! Well that makes me sound like a dope, doesn't it?! I had no idea the temporary files didn't delete themselves. All sorts of people's avatars changed after I did that. Motivated got much uglier, for one.

Here's the pic I was referring to, in case you're interested.

No dope feeling intended Kim - just a heads up!

btw - cool pic of water water rafting (but I like the triathlete)

I asked Motivated about his new picture on this thread a few posts ago too  - I guess he went into hiding
