Yes, I love how it rides!!  Good stiff handling, very comfortable, and I especially enjoy how I can come off of a long ride and actually feel my legs! I love the more forward seat position which allows me to transfer power much better in a more comfortable position. Oh, how I love carbon fiber!!

I feel your pain.

So really... why it is taking "this long" to get bikes out the door?

What about the Specialized email dated February 5th, 2008:

Transition (carbon) update:
Expect our delivery to improve dramatically commencing in March. In April we will fill 40% of our back orders and by the end of May we will have completely filled all back orders.

I hate it when people lie...

There are some problems with the frames...

Also, I would go back to your LBS and ask them to show you the email that Specailized sent out on Friday... You wont be very happy.

Said they are now pushing to end of July - Aug now and that there would be no changes for the 09 model due to the back up.

A bird in the hand .....

Personally, Id buy a different bike. I dont like to play the waiting game. There are too many other good options out there to be waiting that long.

I was at a opening of a new LBS and the Specialized rep was saying a lot of the issue is with the seat post clamp that was sourced.
Not sure if this was the standard line, but come on, make some new clamps and ship bikes.

I hope its worth the wait, they look like nice bikes.

My 2 cents, I couldn't wait and purchased a Felt b12 and love it.

Good luck.

By any of those 3 and you have a more proven aero bike with all the "design innovations" that Specialized stole to make theirs, so you make the call ......

A friend of mine who works at a shop got to test ride a Transition and said it was the worst road bike he's ever ridden. They look sweet but he hated it and said he wouldn't ride one if it was free.

Did it - canceled order of the Transition pro and went with the P3C. Not only am I going to get it about two months before the pro was scheduled, but this review really did a nice analysis on the P3C.

I have been tossing around the idea of getting rid of mine... I am yet to ride it. I have been training on another bike and I have a race this weekend. I am scared to switch at this point.

Seems like Specialized is having a number supply issues. I bought a pair of Trivent shoes in March. Wanted 43.5, but the closest I could find was 44. The shop I bought the shoes from finally got a pair of 43.5s on backorder, but they're not expected until end of May. Doh!

I assume they are selling a lot of things, but business 101 says that you should meet the demand of your products, otherwise you will forgo business. Im a perfect example, I was going to buy one of their bikes, in fact I had, but not anymore. I'm sure someone will buy the bike that was intended for me, but that should have been 2 bikes sold instead of just 1. Too bad for specialized. I still think they make great bikes and love my tarmac.

Looks like i'll be looking for a new ride too. I went down to my dealer and now Specialized says they won't fill any orders for framesets as they have discontinued selling just framesets to concentrate on complete bikes! I've been buying Specialized bikes for almost 2 decades now and will never purchase another one of their products again. A complete customer service disaster for the S company. Looks like i'll see what Felt or Cervelo can do for delivery at this point if they can deliver in less than a year they will beat Specialized.

Has anyone heard anything new?

I have yet to see a Transition in person, and am wondering if they have been shipping or not.

When I ask the LBS for an ETA all I can get for an answer is, "You're a high priority." I am committed to waiting this thing out.

It's a good thing I still have my old bike... first race is coming up in just over a week.

Latest that I heard was last week from the LBS that sponsors our team and it is basically what was posted before. No 08 framesets will be produced, and the very very few complete bikes that are made will be sold as pre '09 models. They aim to have a full line in '09 that turns out the quality of handbuilt frames by mass production.

They are out there... You just have to know where to look and have a bike shop that pesters their rep daily if at all possible. I have seen a lot of them in the last month... I see this one every morning when I walk in my living room.

P.S. I also know that there were 26 Transition Comps that shipped out this last week to shop's that have the bikes sold already.

If anything, that is more promising news than I had expected...

Jhouse, did you ever take that bike out for a ride?

If so, what did you think compared to the P2C?
