The last time the world looked at the glamour girl of the pool she was winning her first individual Olympic gold medal at the 2004 Athens Games. There's a lot more of the 25-year-old swimmer on view in the July issue of Playboy, where a topless Beard is on the cover billed as "the world's sexiest athlete nude |

Royal(PITA) 14270 West Chester, Ohio | Subject: RE: Putrid Pudding Hail no--the dude is waving at ME cause I made it through a swim where the mojo was missing...let's just say that leaving the contacts home and using gogglles alone without correction made swimming a contact sport and it wasn't the pool piglet coach --more like my head on the wall, back on the lane lines and knee to the ladder. It was a pretty ugly morning at the pool but I persevered 19,000 yards left to goal. Any of you swim gurus know anything about early vertical foream? If so, fill me in cause I'm not getting it |

If so, fill me in cause I'm not getting it LOL Sorry, Judi ... try crashing into the coach next time You probably know this, but you get the most pull (most surface area with which to displace water) from a forearm that's vertical in the water, with approx. 90-degree angle to the upper arm. That's why you want to get it vertical ASAP after full extension of the arm during the glide. But, the best way to get it vertical? Instead of pulling it straight down, you displace more water (after the extension) if you pull the hand down into the water (keeping the elbow high in the water) by pulling back with the shoulder (not the hand) but making the hand do a slight outward curve (the top part of the backward S). That motion also sets you up better for the hip roll. Clear as mud? |

Subject: RE: Putrid Pudding Hi teammies Sorry I've been a bad slacker lately You can rest assured that I will complete my 24,000 yards. I'll just do some longer swims to make up for it. I've been busy and also sick this week and swimming when you're congested and coughing constantly is NOT appealing. |
