I've got a January full of business travel. I like Melissa's goal. Put me down for 30 miles of RUNNING...to be completed by the 31th...

LOL - nice one, Sal. Bummer about all the business travel though. Looks like we'll get to be on the same team again then.

I'm in! I'll run. We're doing a half mary in April so good to start getting focused.

Put me down for 65 miles.

By Special Request... :D  I'd like to change my goal to a mile based goal...

Please, if you could, change mine to Run, 70 miles.

 Thank you!

Oh, and if the distance teams get split... could you put ell-in-or and I on the same team?

Even though I'm in for running, I'm sure I'll be checking in on the biking group, too. I really time to get in some time on my new bike. If it weren't for the fact that I've got a 5k on Feb. 3, I would've signed up for the biking challenge. So, I'm just thinking of myself as being an "unofficial" bike challenge team member.

Dee;

If you don't have enough for a "Running by Time" group then I can go to the "Running for Distance" bunch. If you put me in that group then I will do 70 miles.

Thanks

Steve

*snerk*... oops, wrong thread.

I finally got me a rear wheel mounted cyclocomputer, so forget the running.  Time to ride.

This will be my first challenge and I was thinking of doing the run, but since I am doing a bike focus plan for January I will sign up for 350 miles on the bike.

Thanks

Dee... have you come up with spiffy team names yet?

Nope! I'll let the teams do that!

Cat is good with creative names. I'm not! LOL.... So I'll let each team name itself.

Actually, I'm betting that you'd be good with creative names too.

Hi Steve,

Don't worry about it....

I'll leave you in the Running-Time group, since you prefer time. We still have 5 days until the challenge begins, ad I'm sure a lot more people will be setting goals before then.

Even if I end up combining teams, you'll still be able to go by time. (Although, I still think we'll have enough for 6 full teams.)

(Give it a day or two -- people will start to realize they've eaten too many Holiday cookies, and now need to work out in January....! LOL)

January Challenge Teams to date:
Here are the team lineups so far.

If the Challenge becomes large, I'll break apart some of the teams. For example, Running-distance is close to at a point where it may become two teams.

If a team stays small, I'll combine it with another. (So if you're the only person on a team so far, don't worry about it.) For example, Swimming-time may eventually be combined with Swimming-distance. This is NOT a problem, and not something that anyone should worry about.... It'll all work out in the end. The swimmers will be together. The runners will be together. The cyclists will be together.

Sign me up for 10 hours of running.  I need a team that's going to pick up the smack talk for me.  I seem to do very poorly in that department.

If you want to switch me over to hours instead of distance run so there is enough for a full would be fine with that too.

Nope, you're good.

No need for anyone to switch. (Unless you want to have a guaranteed teammate request.)

I'm in... I think running will be the choice.  I did really bad with running last month so I am going to do 6:00 hours of running for the month, which is about twice a week.  That I should be able to keep with!

OK Dee and Beth... I know you are expecting me to come up with a bike goal... but alas, I shall try to actually pretend I am a runner

I'm in for 20 miles provided I can count aquajogging if my joints hassle me.
