Expert 1231 B'ham | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL Tracy - you're going to do great. Keep the thoughts positive and go get 'em. Picture yourself w/ a flawless bike ride and zero mechanicals. You've got those hills nailed - just spin easy. Your other race was cancelled for a reason, you're SAVAGEWOMAN! And don't worry about your ears, they're doing amazing things in plastic surgery these days.

Master 1952 Guelph, Ontario | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL dalessit - 2008-09-16 2:56 PM Oh and just swam my first 2k length swim at the pool today (i.e. no drills just straight swimming). Felt pretty good. I think I am going to just work on the distances for awhile then get back to working on getting faster. Congratulations on the new distance. It feels great when you achieve another milestone doesn't it. |

Master 1952 Guelph, Ontario | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL Tracy you re going to do great and I bet you are in just under 3 hours. You have trained for this and with all the other races you have done you know you can finish and finish strong. You go SAVAGEWOMAN Just think : I will keep my thoughts positive as my thoughts become my words. I will keep my words positive because my words become my actions. There's more to that litany but you don't need it now. |

Champion 9060 Charlottesville, Virginia | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL So Baowolf when is your HIM exactly and which one? From reading up on your training you should kick some major butt. Tracy, I will be thinking of you out there on that tough course while I am barbecuing on my front porch this weekend while drinking a cold, cold beer I could even pour a bit of beer out of respect for ya if you want me to. Also, who'se working on their schedule for next year? So many events, so little time, lol even my winter is getting filled up with races, last Tri is in November and now doing a 10k on Dec 14th with a bunch of BT'ers, I think we have over 20 people allready (Tracy, you should come up for that one) Looking at these races so far for 2009 http://www.shamrockmarathon.com/site3.aspx March 2009 Doing the 1/2 Mary (first time at this distance) http://www.marinemarathon.com/page11.aspx, HAHA first Marathon, but have a year to get ready Still undecided on which Tri's I am going to sign up for, maybe try some of the bigger olympics next year and if all goes well a HIM to end things for the year. |

Master 1952 Guelph, Ontario | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL I haven't really looked at next years schedule except to know that I want to do both an Olympic and an HIM. We have such a short season up here that it is hard to fit it in. The only races I have planned for this year yet is the tri this weekend and then a 5K run for cancer in early Oct. You need to travel to warmer climates for races, that is the only answer LOL I had a speed run last night, did one of my miles in 8:02. How the heck do you fast people maintain that for a whole race, I felt like that was sprinting. |

Expert 1231 B'ham | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL Let's just say I'm working on a very rough draft of next year's schedule, which at this point includes a HIM in September. In order to follow the 20 wk plan, I'd have to start in late April, which means I'll have a 6 wk old baby and a 22 month old tornado at home. I really don't think I'll actually sign up for anything until after the baby is here and we've had a chance to settle in a bit. The HIM goal may have to wait a season, only time will tell. |

Master 2436 Apex, north carolina | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL I've had one of those mornings from hell and I can't seem to get settled into a routine now. I tried to leave for work and the car wouldn't start. Then once it did the engine light came on! Wouldn't you know it. I have a 7 hour drive to get to the race Friday afternoon and the car decides to act up! So of course I have to get it to the dealer, have the hubby come get me and take me to work - so now no swimming at lunch - get the kids to dance/gymnastics -some how get the car (if it's fixed) and train a little bit!!!! If I had any hair left it would be standing on end right now. Tony, which race is the 10K in DC on the 14th? You don't have it listed on your race schedule. For next year I want to repeat the local sprints with my training friends, I'll do another olympic but one closer to home, and IDEALLY I would love to do a HIM. Which one I haven't decided on. This winter I need to do a half marython. Running is my weakest part and I would be so stoked if I could pull that off. I had thought about a full but on my last run when I crossed mile 5 I thought to myself, "now just 21 more miles to go...." so that realization put that aspiration out of my head real quick!!!

Hope you can find another now that your all trained for it. Ran a quick 4 miler today. 36 minutes 9.07min/mi. I think I am going to better the time in my last race on the weekend and do a PB. Need to fit in one more good swim and a short bike/run brick. Depending on the timing I might miss the brick as I want at least one full day rest before the race. |

Master 2436 Apex, north carolina | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL off subject but kind of an urgent question. How do you get a Race Talk thread to start on one of your scheduled races? Didn't it use to be an option when you clicked on the race link page, but I can't find mine. On other races there was a Race Discussion link, and with this one I'm not even getting a list of fellow racers. Edited by tahrens 2008-09-17 12:20 PM |

I am not real sure how that works, but maybe you can start a thread of "who's racing" savageman this weekend? Seems like the easy, lazy way to get out of it?! I On a side note if you need help w/ a rental car this weekend, let me know. I work for Enterprise, so I can probably get you a pretty good deal?! Shoot me a pm if needed.. |

Champion 9060 Charlottesville, Virginia | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL crap, just dropped my bike. Missing a bit o skin... wrist is a bit sore. The upshot is my bike still looks good, just scuffed the brake lever and shredded a bit of bar tape. I was flying through a really tight switchback on a paved trail, leaning the bike way out and it slipped right out from underneath me.

Master 2436 Apex, north carolina | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL The race thread wasn't for SavageMan actually. It is for a small sprint later in October. There is a woman new to BT that posted about the race and I was trying to help her meet some of the other racers signed up for that race - but I can't seem to figure it out. I did start a thread in the North Carolina section. Thanks Steve, thanks for the car rental offer. They have to keep the car overnight to try to duplicate the problem. Isn't it Murphy's Law that the car will never reproduce the problem when it is at the mechanic. They say it is either the ignition coils or the entire computer system - nice and simple and cheap I'm sure. Can I hold on to that offer until I know more? Tony, sorry to hear you took a spill. They say its not if you crash but when, so hopefully this counts as your bike crash and it will be smooth sailing from here. |
