Morning Ghoulies!  

Tomorrow is DH 60th birthday.  His daughter & granddaughter are coming for dinner.  He asked for lasagne and cupcakes.  I will make the lasagne but the cupcakes will be made by the grocery store.  They do have a good bakery, so I will get cupcakes and garlic bread there.             Hmmm,  I suppose that tonight I should straighten up the house a bit and vacuum!

Tell him Happy Birthday for me, too!

I am off to go watch a consultant sample hazardous waste today. A lot of travel for not much action. Gotta make sure they do it right!

Two staff out sick today, so it will be a rough day coverage wise at work.

Well, the one who was always late has been on time except for one day that I know of.  I have an article for her to read, along with three chapters of a book that relate to her issue.  She is on leave this week, so I will that ready for her when she comes back.

The other one, right now no financial mistakes.  Not holding my breath though.

But staffing is always an issue.  One really good staff member is moving to Charlotte, so she is only here for another 8 days of work.  I hate to see her go, but it is a great job opportunity for her husband.  Another staff, actually reports directly to my PSL, quit last week.  No real notice.  I wrote on her separation papers that I would not rehire for that reason.

So, I am getting one new person in two weeks.  Training two other new people right now.  I am up to the challenge!  Aaaarrrrgh.  It is better than that alternative of no new staff.    We need to post for the one that quit last week, but HR is on vacation this week, so the posting won't go out for at least another week.  Grrrr!

Hello everyone! I have missed you guys. It's good to drop by the village, though. 

This afternoon I met my daughter at a gas station, fllled up her gas tank for her, and senther on her way to her boyfriend's graduation ceremony. *sigh* My baby! She'll be driving home in rush hour traffic, and she's a nervous driver, I'm saying my prayers for her already! It broke my heart to watch her drive away. Letting go is hard already, I can only imagine what's coming in the next year.

Thanks for the compliment, Kendra! The pics were taken Saturday--it was a more strenuous hike than I had anticipated, but it was worth it. We went up a little canyon called Bell's Canyon, not far from where we'll be building our house in a few months.   

And now I have to run--I have a few errands to run before The Boy gets out of school in an hour and a half.

Do you remember a summer or two we did a rain dance for Robin? Well right now I need you to do a don't rain just yet dance!

Tomorrow is the last day of school. It is the 4th grade picnic. The 4th graders have to have a nice day for their picnic! It only needs to stay dry until 2, 3 would be  better, but we can tear down in the rain. I don't care if Friday night's softball game under the lights gets rained out, but I don't want the picnic to be ruined for the kids. It's a big BSES tradition.

This is the picnic where I did the waterslide at the end of the day with all of the kids cheering when Caleb was in 4th grade. That started Waterslide Wednesdays, which lead to FFFFridays!!!

Keri has been asking me the entire school year if I was going to do the waterslide tomorrow in front of her class. Of course I'll do the waterslide.

I would do the waterslide, too! You may have to do it twice. Once for you and once for the Ghoulies!

Right now, the rain looks like it should hold off until after the picnic, but how much can you trust the weathermen? The person in charge is making a contingency plan. We are allowed access to all the classrooms in the 4th grade hallway, and the gym. We won't be able to have the waterslide, or water wars, but we can still have fun.

Good thing for Plan B. Hopefully you won't have to use it.

It is cloudy here this morning, but the rain is supposed to hold off until around 4 or 5. I hope they're right about that! Once it starts it's supposed to rain into sometime Saturday, and they're calling for 3+ inches of rain, and localized flooding.
