rlejeune - 2009-06-07 4:14 PM 100 km - 3:24:57 ... 717 meters/2352 foot climb. Damn that was fun

Good job!  Lots more hills than here in NE Tx...  We would need a plane to do that much climbing.

running4beer - 2009-06-07 5:49 PM So I got two runs in so far, which I think is an accomplishment when outta town on biz.  The first I was actually running for beer with one of the Hashes here.  The second was running off my Saturday night beer at a 5k sponsored by the conference at 6:30 this morning in the French Quarter.  And yes, at 6:30, there were still a lot of drunk folks out on the street here in New Orleans!

One cool thing that I've never seen before-- my race number was made out of a speckled-looking paper.  When I unpinned it after I got back to my hotel room, I saw on the back it says that those specks are flower seeds!  I can soak it in water for 24-hrs then cover with a couple inches of soil in spring or fall and it will grow flowers!  How cool is that??!!??

That is way cool!

I completed my 100k on Saturday and faired much better against the elements than on a couple of my other rides.  (RR) I am happy with my performance for two reasons.  First, I could barely ride at the first of the year because I was so out of shape.  Second, it was a training ride, so speed was not the primary motivation, rather a LSD ride.  Looking forward to a mini sprint tri this coming weekend!  Meanwhile, back at the ranch tomorrow is a run workout!  Go team Taser Running!

D001 - 2009-06-07 2:39 PM And now... The Weekly Team Standings for the June Challenge..... 1st place - Taser Running - 21.1% 2nd place - Team Trifecta - 18.3% 3rd place - June Bugs - 15.4% BUT it looks like three people on the June Bugs team have zeros on the spreadsheet: colesdad, victoria.petridou, pilotncommand172. (Jen, did you want to check their blogs? You can borrow my taser if you'd like. ) Once these people update the spreadsheet, who KNOWS what the results will be! Will Team June Bugs remain in 3rd place, move up to 2nd, or even take over 1st???? Stay tuned. The month is only 23% completed. The second update will be posted next week. Stay motivated! Keep running! (And don't forget the secondary challenge: the POST PADDING challenge!) - Dee

Good job everyone BTW, now lets keep that first place!
