I love coffee in bed.

I just love Coffee

I quit drinking caffine a few weeks ago. But I am back off the wagon now. I just had a tasty coffee and I feel so much better.

Why would you ever do that to yourself?

Caffeine, Bacon, and bootys are what make the world bearable

and booze.

very true good sir.

Just being silly. I have been sick and not loosing any more weight in the last 7 weeks. I am stuck. So just changing things up and seeing what I can do to try and promote weight loss again.

I had a hell of a headache for a few days after quitting. I do this a couple times a year anyways to flush my system for a couple weeks each time.

caffeine is more likely to promote weight loss.

also caffeine is out of your system pretty fast. no need for a couple weeks.

I quit caffeine/coffee once every few years. Kind of just to see if I have the willpower. Last time it was because I was getting super addicted - I don't like feeling "addicted" to ANYTHING, even if it is delicious, delicious coffee.

I occasionally cut back on caffine, but I have never given it up!  And I have no plans too!

Do you track your calories???

I SORT of consider myself an "expert" now.  Granted, I seem to have some weird blips when it comes to my weight loss.  BUT, I was the lowest I have been since I started my program Jan 1.  So far, something like 14-15 lbs?  And better yet, BF has gone way down and the mirror is becoming my friend, instead of a cruel reminder!

7 weeks seems like a LONG time to not lose anything.  I found the ONLY way to make sure I'm on track, is to keep DETAILED tabs on my calories in and out and make sure out > in.

Moral hypothetical. Details have been slightly altered to protect, well, frankly, me. Heh.

I do not blow secrets. On this island, especially, I hold that in sacred trust, and admittedly I've made a lot of money off it too. Friends and clients come to me alike because they know I don't breathe a word to anyone.

My best friend Alice's boyfriend (Abi) ran off with someone she despises (Brandy, and the feeling is mutual).

I am a friend and confidante of all three, although Alice is my closest and we are soul sisters.

Alice did not know he ran off with Brandy (Alice just knew he was gone), and Brandy did not even know Abi had ever been with Alice.

Brandy and Abi have been engaged for a while now.

Alice and Brandy ran into each other today, they found out about each other, and there was a serious confrontation, and later Abi paid Alice a very nasty call.

Of course, Alice is deeply distraught by all of this and turns to her best buddy--me.

In the middle of her hysterical spewing, she suddenly asks, "Did you know they were together and engaged?"

"Yes," I answered.

"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME???" Alice demanded. She is very hurt, and rightfully so. I believe I am equally right in that I don't go around talking about people's stuff. I just don't.

Any thoughts? Comments?

not tew shabby, thanks for asking, and how about yourself?

Extremely difficult to get out of bed and feeling crappy for quite some time after, but unlike other recent days, once I got going the day rolled along just fine.

Our Packaging Engineer at work makes me want to facepalm myself. No offense Marilyn.

What ever happen to keeping things simple. Why do people over complicate things?

Oh heck ya I track it all. I did everything in daily burn, I started doing it here to but slipped a bit in the last few weeks. I can totally understand my last few weeks wiht working 12-16 hour days and hardly working out.

I was 265 lbs in the spring when I started all this I am around 215-218 and seem to be stuck in that area. IT is winter up here and there are no 3 hour bike rides taking place right now. So def reduced workouts.

Eating about 1800-2400 calories a day. I sort of zig zag my calories I have two days were I get up closwer to 2400 calories and the rest are down around the 1800 mark.

I have slipped on the tracking but I am still eating the same things and measuring everything out. I eat every 2 hours. But admitted the work out times have slipped and the fresh veggies have slipped a bit too, carb intake is up a bit as well.

I forgot to weigh in this morning so I will have to tomorrow. But if I am down my guess would be muscle loss from not working out much.   One more week of hell at work and I should be back to normal hours.

My wife bought me a new swimsuit yesterday. They are not really jammers, as they are pretty short, but not your typical Speedo short.  Not sure if I can rock them at the pool yet, casue I am not used to wearing something so short on the legs. Do any of you dudes train in anything but jammers?

GOOOOOOOOD MORNING, TAN!

I see Cord, Lady Swole, Kido, Yantilicious, Techiedude, and a modelFord.

So far we have survived our Arctic blast and bad snowstorm, but the trailing strong winds and even colder temps are coming in a couple of hours.  So, what better thing to do than say "Hi" to the TANnites, listen to my youngest make smacking noises with whatever he is eating, look out my window and see half of my window, diagonally, covered in a snowdrift, and completing my 2011 Fed and State taxes??  I need a Beam and Coke, but need to ration that for later tonight.

well, the lack of working out could make a big difference...

I'm close to the same.  Sort of zig zag the calories.  Typically, I run about 2k average.  somedays as low as 1300, and other days up to 2700...

By several estimations, may basic metoblic rate is about 2100 calories burned a day just "existing".  SO, unless I really restrict my diet those days I don't train, I'm "breaking even"...

But, if I get my workouts in per plan, I'm getting over 4k burned average a day.  That puts me at a projected 4 lb loss a week.  So far, since Jan 1, it's been about 3 lbs a week showing up on the scale...  I may have been over estimating my calories burned the first several weeks (see my comments in the Garmin calorie thread for more on that)...

The big things I discovered by tracking?  It's WAY easy to accidently cheat on calories in.  That one or two truffles?  140 calories.  4-5 hard candies at the front desk?  100 calories.  Oh, BTW?  10oz of Sake????  350 calories!!!!!  Handfull of tortilla chips?  150 calories.  All these things are close to 10% of my daily intake, and it's just junk.

Weight loss is "easy" in theory, but tough to mentally deny all the "empty" calories that can SO easily sneak in there.
