Extreme Veteran 495 | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED!!!! Nothing too exciting here, but at a Nathan sponsored race, I got a Headsweats visor and a water bottle with the hand strap, both of which I use all the time. Alex, good luck on your race!! |

Extreme Veteran 746 | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED!!!! I've only done 2 races so far and not much swag.
Last year's was a whole bunch of random stuff from the sponsers - e.g. dry conditioner, a bottle of water etc - and this year was just a copy of that day's paper and a bannana plus the bag itself. |

Expert 1067 Douglaston, NY | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED!!!! Gawd, we never get anything good in our races. I'm happy if I get a t-shirt, let alone a technical one, though one race did get a drugstore as a major sponsor so we received a bag full a sample sized things like Purell, fancy lotion, sun block, tissues, and a few other things. |

Expert 972 Falls Church | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED!!!! Good luck racers! Especially Alex in her marathon. (I think that's the longest distance this weekend). Here is some very cute triathlon related. A triathlon cake. This is 'the girl' from DC Rainmaker's blog. His blog is everything fitness electronics related. So if you are looking to buy a new watch, cyclo-computer, etc check out his pages. I am heading into a two week taper after this weekend. One or two last long runs and then I'll be scaling back to be fully prepared for HIM on June 10. |

I bet it took her longer to make the cake than it would take to do the Ironman!! Happy Holiday weekend to everyone! Go get 'em in the marathon Alex!! Tammy Tucker and I are doing our relay this weekend... an OLY. I have the swim and she's doing the run, her hubs is doing the bike... |

SO stinkin' cute! If someone made that for me, I would NOT cut it! I would build an alcove for it in my house and keep it forever! |

Race stuff ~I haven't gotten anything great, but when I did the 3M half-marathon I got a huge bag full of 3M products - lots of tape, knee brace, post-its, sandpaper, etc. It was all actually useful, which was fun! |

Extreme Veteran 746 | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED!!!! Finally ran for 3 mins continuously tonight. Going to try doing it as a repeat workout during the week since i did a ladder workout tonight - walk stayed at 5 mins, and the run went up 30 secs each time. |

Expert 1618 Temple, TX | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED!!!! We had a GREAT relay in downtown Austin today! All three of us did well in our legs, even though Tammy was not happy with her time, if you take into account the heat and full sun, she did great. Here's a link to our race report... we didn't bring home any bling, but we were in AUSTIN, stiff competition for sure! I could be wrong, but I think we were probably the oldest team out there... I think I was the oldest person doing a relay!

Expert 972 Falls Church | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED!!!! Glad you had a fun race! Nice swim time! I completed my last long run before my HIM on Sunday. Was pretty warm. I did get too hot at one point so I switched to 8 minute run with 2 minute walk for the last 4 miles. I am not used to the heat and humidity yet. It has arrived in full force here in the mid-Atlantic. I had hoped to have my shoes last through the race but it was clear after the run that I need a new pair. Got blisters on two toes (likely due to too thin socks that I rarely wear). Feet and ankles really felt the run. So new shoes should arrive today or tomorrow. Looks like my swim will be in pretty warm water. Temp right now is 76.3. Anyone have recommendations on sunscreen with jellyfish protection? I've used SeaSafe but am looking for other recommendations. No it is really time to be disciplined and have a successful taper. I know they are important but it's hard not to just keep doing what I've been doing for the past 4 months --- get lots of training minutes in! |

LMAO -- I pee in the pool all the time but save it for when I swim along the side of someone... it makes me laugh to think they are swimming in my jet stream (no pun intended).. by the way it's a BIG jet stream!!!

Extreme Veteran 607 Zionsville, Indiana | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED!!!! Okay, so I have NOT lost my mojo lately and disappeared.. I've been working like mad to prepare the house for being put on the market before I leave for the UK tomorrow for two weeks. I will be spending 5 days in Southern Spain relaxing at an all inclusive resort... googling the naked girls... drinking like a fish.... enjoying good food... making new "friends" and recharging my bones. I have vowed to myself that I will run and swim while I'm there. I'll send some pictures of me in a speedo.. and by the way I'll even show the burned a$$ cheeks for your viewing entertainment... I know... I know... You can't wait... Stay tuned the boy is on the prowl!!! haha |

Expert 1618 Temple, TX | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED!!!! Drinking like a fish, Wilson?? You best be SWIMMING like a fish so you're not eating my wake in Waco! You're having some tough times, enjoy that beach vacation!! An my guess is that you are an EXPERT ogler! Kristen is racing this morning, her first tri of the season!! Her training has been MMM stellar, I know she will do well!!! Go Girl Go!! Louise and I will be meeting each other for the first time today even though we live about 45 minutes apart... we are picking up our packets for tomorrow's Danskin and racking our bikes. I got a good swim wave, 3rd wave behind the elites (only 7 of them) and one wave in front of me, so hope to have nice open water to speed through to get to my bike and then open road! This will be my 3rd time on this course, but with two different brand races, and I did them my very first 2 tris, so hoping to better my time and bring home some bling, which looking at past results is possible if I don't totally blow up on the run. Louise has been training like a machine, so even though she starts about 15 minutes after me, I wouldn't rule out her passing me on the run! And not to rub it in, but I am officially on Summer Vacation!!! School starts again Aug. 20th, and inbetween is just open calendar, free and clear for training whenever I want!! (As well as a BUNCH of home projects I wanna get to...) |
