I am an idiot. It does indeed have a DVD drive..
I have most of my data files backed up and will update and transfer the rest.
If I were to look to backup my e-mail stuff. internet bookmarks, etc. Where would I look?

aspeelma - 2009-11-13 9:24 AM Mr. Graves... Are you there?

I am reading and learning but my mind is on riding my bicycle today so I am not adding anything to the conversation because it would only be innuendo's anyways!

Cannot believe you don't have any drives though - that seems strange.

I say hook them up together and let them transfer data back and forth until they are both relieved!

I'm all for the transfering data as well. But that isn't why I called you over here.

I was browsing Tri Talk and I saw you posted about the Goofy Race at Disney. I've thought about doing it, too. I wouldn't be able to swing it until 2012 though. I should have several HM's and at least 1 full in by then. I really hope I get a chance to do it.

I think about little other than swimming, biking, running and... almost all day long. Today is Friday though, and we're stuck at work, we need the innuendo's for fuel to make it through the work day.

Internet bookmarks should be in your profile. If you use Firefox, it probably wouldn't hurt to go to Program Files and backup the Mozilla or Firefox (whichever it is called) folder.

As for emails, this can be tricky. If I remember correctly you use thunderbird, and outlook. Do you POP them down from somewhere or are they stored on a server? I'm not sure of the default storage location for thunderbird, but I can google it. Outlook saves emails in a strange location that I will have to google as well.

ceilidh - 2009-11-12 8:27 AM Morning all. I have tried to catch up on the thread, but one step forward two steps back with your chatty selves .
I have had a crappy crappy crappy couple of days. Yesterday I hurt so bad (migrane and neck shoulder issues) I was physically sick. YUCK. Today I feel old, and fat and discouraged. So...... I signed out of work and I am gonna get on the trainer for a bit and see how it goes.  Hopefully I can take the day to smack myself around a bit and buck up. I need to run but the weather is horrific -wind, driving rain, flooding. so, maybe later today but tomorrow definately.
My new shoes are waiting for me.

ohhh Robin, sorry to hear you have not had a good couple of days! Hope it gets better soon! The sun is shining here so no reason why I'm not outside.....although it is only 46 out and looks a bit windy!

Come on Donkey get your shoes on and get out there!  You know in 2 weeks or less it could be 46 below and windy.

Take full advantage of the November warm up and hit the pavement!

Run Kim Run

Run Donkey Run

Run Kim Run

Did you need motivation or are you just going to relax today? LOL

Thanks for the push Bill....too bad I didn't see it until now!

oh my gosh,  she is SO much faster than me!   Seriously though, it is great that you can get her interested moving now at her young age.  I am sure that you are a good role model and encourager for her.  Kudos to you

givemashot - 2009-11-12 9:14 PM SO I'm thinking my smothered cheese and pork enchiladas from Cafe Rio are NOT paleo, right? Tonight was the annual banquet for the local tri club. I did not win anything this year, but I did walk away with some swag...a t-shirt from the uber-cool BAM triathlon (Battle at Midway), and a stack of hammer nutrition stuffs and some sharkies. Oh, and hubby scored a tshirt, too. And one of my tri-chicas gave me a shirt from a race we both did last spring. The sizes ran VERY small, so it didn't fit her. Mine didn't fit, either. As a matter of fact, I think it was too small for my then-12 year old daughter. And she's a petite little thing. So all in all a nice evening. An dmy son got to challenge his grandpa to a race on the baja 1000 on the wii. He won, of course.

Sounds like a very fun evening!  The closest tri club I can find is over an hour away and I just don't know how I could fit that into my schedule very often.  Oh well, at least I may be able to join them for some OWS next spring.

Good morning Ghoulies!!!

We had parent teacher conferences yesterday. It is so nice to hear an unbiased party tell you that you have raised a good kid, and I got to hear that twice yesterday!

My son is a very smart boy, we've known this since he was about 18 months old. His teacher just went on and on about him. He's in fourth grade, and the kids are supposed to have jobs in the classroom. My son now does half of the jobs because the teacher doesn't have enough reliable kids to perform the tasks. He told us he's afraid he'll burn our son out, I told him that he was fine, the more you give him to do the more he thrives. His teacher probably told us 6 times that our son is such a deep thinker, that he has a challenge in the classroom just trying to come up with things for our son to do, he wants to challenge him so he doesn't get bored. My son had been tested for the gifted program last year, but we decided not to do it because he works better at his own pace. The administrators supported our decision and his teachers are aware so he generally is given alternative things to do in the classroom which has worked out well for the boy.

My daughter who is in first grade got raving reviews as well. She has some speech issues, which are being worked on, it does affect her reading some, but not enough that we need to be concerned. She reads at level, and her teacher expects her to move beyond this as her speech progresses, so no big deal. She excels at math and is the artistic one in the family. Every month a student from each class is chosen as the Path Kid, it's like a student of the month award. My son gets this every year by November. My daughter didn't get it in Kindergarten, and we didn't understand why. When the teacher was saying about what a joy it is to have her in the classroom, that she's everyone's friend, volunteers for everything, helps everyone and such I asked why she was never chosen as the Path Kid. The teacher said that she was chosen as the November Path Kid, my daughter just doesn't know this yet, and we're not telling her. The teacher has been teaching for 30 years and said you only get a kid like my daughter every 5 or 6 years. That was nice to hear.

So the kids are doing well and I'm happy. A friend of mine took her 2 kids and my 2 swimming last night while we were in conferences. I met them at the Y and because all 4 kids had good report cards I took them out for Pizza then.

This is the good kind of bragging!!  Sounds like you are doing a real good job parenting.  Congrats
