Does a fat baby fart. Heck yes I will. But there is no need to worry. With these temps it will be wetsuit legal.

I'm sending my bike thru TriBIke transport.  I paid the extra $35 to send my tri bag as well.  I put my water bottles, bike equipment (CO2 etc), Perpeteum, gels,  sun screen, wipes, etc in the bag and let TriBike handle it.  Worth the money to not have to worry about getting any of that stuff on a plane IMO.

to say the owner of our 3 BR/3 bath pulled their unit from the rental pool and they moved us to The Watercrest-6201 Thomas Drive, 2 blocks away. When I look at the map it looks more like 2 miles! Am I not getting it? Anyone more familiar with the area who can help or have a closer 3 BR 3 bath condo idea for me? I am a little beside myself with everything else to think about a few days before leaving for Florida. Thank you.

I don't know where it is but I am so sorry. COMPLETE suckage.  Sunbird is a good choice but they are almost all 1 bedrooms.  Shores of panama is about a 1/2 mile from the venue.  I am no familiar with Watercrest

How can I find out the water temperature? I heard it's warmer than typical right now. I am wondering whether this is going to be a no wetsuit swim?

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but didn't see it in the thread from the last week or so.

73.6 in Pensacola, but the water temps are dropping every week and there is another cold front moving through this weekend.  It will be wetsuit legal, no question.

This place has some three bedrooms available.  It's located on Surf Drive (the run course) about a mile from the finish.

This unit at Gulf Crest (also on Surf Drive, but about .25 mi closer to the start/finish line) was also available as late as last week when my room was taken as well.  They wanted $1000 for Wednesday arrival and Monday departure with a $500 refundable deposit.  We almost rented this one.  The owner's name is Tonna and her contact info is on the VRBO page.

I have always wonder about that.  What is the registration cutoff for pros?  Would love to see more big names in FL.

I like the one from Schooners Bar.  The bar is just east of the start.  They've got two views of the beach:

It's sure beautiful this afternoon, sunny with surf running about 3-4 inches.  inches.

I think the weather today would be pretty much perfect for the race.   Low of 63, right now at 3:00 in the afternoon it's 79 degrees.  3 mph wind, and it will cool to the mid 60's by midnight.   That's the weather I wish for.

Florida is tough for pros.  Its a P-1000 race and its three weeks after Kona.

The way a WTC license works is youpay $750 and can register for as many IMs as you want.  Lots of times pros will "register" if they think they're going to race and then pull out.

Good luck to everyone!  I was there three years ago for my IMFL finish.  Enjoy the experience. Soak up every minute 'cause once you cross the finish line YOU ARE AN IRONMAN!.

Finished around 10:30pm... did not get to bed until midnight...but was up at 5:30am to go down and get in line to get the finishing merchandise...otherwise, there are very long lines at the tents to get your stuff.  If you see it, buy it, since not all of it makes it to the IronmanStore afterwards.

I had Journey's "Don't stop...believing" running through my head the entire race...kept me motivated...

If you think you will be running at night, get a clip light for your hat... best advice I learned the year before...otherwise, it is pretty dark out in the state park at night...

YOU WILL DO THIS!!!!!!!!

WTH is a P-1000 race?
