Why, my sweet little big-gun Cordlet

No bacon, sadly. I had some ham I was thinking of cutting into it, but it's been in my fridge a while and I can't remember how long.

Now would be a perfect time to cook it up.

But it scares me!

I think I'll give some to the dogs, and if they don't die, I'll fry the living hell out of it and then eat it.

New day, new attitude.

Yesterday was rough to keep composed.  And to top it off, some kids in a car threw something at me during my run.  It was something minor, and it barely touched me and I barely felt it, but that kind of stuff gets me ANGRY.  I picked up a rock and ran with it the next mile or so hoping they would try it again.

I had to throw out so much food yesterday.  The wife asks for fresh produce (and sadely, I don't eat enough) so it just goes bad.  $20 of fruit went into the trash last night after finding mold over everything.

Yelling too.  I mean, it startles me since I'm not expencting it.  And not sure why they want to yell curse words at a stranger minding their own business...

That get's me mad enough to pick up a rock as well, but usually just keep on running.  This time, I stopped, turned to identify the car and stood there daring them to come back and even considered turning around.

I realize it's just kids having fun and trying to impress each other about the "cool thing they did" by not respecting anyone.  But it turns me into a cranky old man that hates teenagers.

i just don't remember throwing stuff at people being impressive or fun.  i mean, i've thrown plenty of stuff at my own friends hanging out having fun...but just driving by a random dude and chucking some garbage out of my car?  that makes ZERO sense.

Mornin Kido.  I got hit with a bag of fast food trash by some kids one morning.  I turned and hit their car with my water bottle that I carry on my runs.  I've never understood where someone would think that's a right thing to do.

I had some kids toss a bag of trash at me once on a bike ride. I started to go as fast as I could when I saw the next light turning yellow. The kids ran the red when they saw me trying to catch up to them. It's not about being tough it's about being stupid kids. We all did something stupid at that time too but yes it is annoying.

Moldy produce - ugh.
I've decided I won't buy salad ingredients anymore. I will spend $5 for a lunch salad at the work cafeteria a few times a week over buying $10+ of salad ingredients and forgetting about them in my fridge. Works out much better for me.

Fruit I will remember to eat most of the time, but I buy it in VERY small amounts. Like 2 bananers, or 2 nectarines, or dump out half the bag of cherries/grapes into another before putting it in my cart.

i have the same issues with salads, especially the lettuce.  never stays crispy and fresh and i end up tossing a ton of it.  i do buy a week's worth of fruit at a time because most of it is robust enough to survive, but my husband and i eat a ton of it.  i know what we use and only buy that - if i let him buy it's always way too much or too little.  at the end of the week i convert mushy fruit to other stuff -- smoothies, topping for pancakes, applesauce, etc.

X2 I am lucky where I live (I guess) because it is in the middle of no where but even when we go ride in Fresno (which I don't do much) people on the roads suck. In my older days now I just try to smile and laugh because they are being a-holes and my dad once told me "I know that person treated you bad, but think of this. You only have to deal with them for a short time but they are an A-Hole and they have to live with themselves for the rest of their lives...think how much it would suck to be stuck next to an A-hole for the rest of your life!"

That all being said if I get hurt and it affects my training I'd be pissed....Kido glad it was just a minor thing and things are looking better today.
