2 parties, but I am dropping off and LEAVING the brownies ... they are not coming home with me!

Is it bad that I don't know who to cheer for?

Got my run in, 5 miles. Heading to Jay's for the Superbowl in about 3 hours. I just hope it's an entertaining game, don't really have a horse in this race.

You'll be cheering for the Patriots, of course!

Hey all,

Not doing anything for the superbowl.  My husband and I are solid Bills fans and really can't stand the Giants or the Patriots (sorry).  I suppose I'd be happier if the Giants won since I dislike them less than I dislike the Pats.  We'll just watch the game and hope that it's entertaining.

I had a nice 16 mile run today.  It was absolutely gorgeous out so I dressed warm and finally got an outside run in.  It's usually late and already dark when I get home, so it was nice to get out in the daylight.  I've been on the treadmill so much lately that it was like my legs forgot how to run hills.  Our neighborhood is very hilly and it kicked my butt!  I haven't felt this tired after a run in a LONG time.  But I pushed through and just kept repeating "mental toughness" in my head over and over every time I wanted to turn back early.

As for the weight loss challenge - I weigh in on Mondays, so I'll let you know where I'm at tomorrow.  I'd like to get down to between 110 and 115 by June or so.  (I'm only 5 feet tall.)  I'm currently somewhere around 129 - my comfortable off-season weight that takes zero effort to maintain.

I hope everyone has recovered from their miscellaneous illnesses!  Jeremy, I hope your daughter is feeling better!

Morning, all!  I am home.  Up early for an hour run, and then I'm hitting the pool tonight.  I got in a run at my parents', and that was it.  Ate like crap the entire time I was gone, so I need to cleanse this week.

My shoes have more than 450 miles on them, so it's really time to buy a new pair.  I will definitely purchase another pair of Brooks.  Best shoes I've ever worn.  I also want to buy a pair of Zoots.  Anyone wear Zoots, and if so, which model do you like?

50 yesterday on wheels.  Not sure why I didn't just hit the trainer.  We go out there and it was low 40s with a 15-20mph wind.  Started out 20-22mph with a crosswind, turned and it was at our back and we were flying w/o trying and then we turned back into it.  Goodness that was brutal.  Made the final turn for home and it was back to a cross wind and it felt like a huge weight was lifted off of me.  Legs feel fried today so I moved run intervals to tomorrow.  Hit the pool this morning.  Had periods where I felt awesome and others where my top half and lower half felt disjointed.

So Cindy and Abby, who's bday is this Saturday, are coming down with something.  Awesome.

I went from a Fizik to an Adamo - couldn't be happier.

My LBS basically set it up at the same height and angle as my Fizik. For front to back placement, they set the rear of the Adamo at the same distance (from the bars) the rear of the Fizik was. This has been working pretty well for me.

Although Jay hasn't sent me a copy of the videos we took while swimming on Saturday yet (hint, hint ), I got to see them yesterday at his SuperBowl party.

It was an eye-opening experience. Can't wait to work on some things and see another set of videos in the future. The next time we were talking about doing two sets of vids; 1 when we start, then do a workout and video ourselves again later to see how the stroke changes after being a little fatigued. I think that will be a good comparison.

I wanted to edit them so that we didn't have multiple people in one clip.
I'm hoping to get that done tonight - but, no promises (Monday is payroll day).

I think I am going to check out the adamo.  I use a cobb and like it but I dont want any issues "down the road" with certain parts and have heard adamo is the best for that.

Dude, tell me about it.  Apparently just reading the forum for our mentor group gets you sick.  I have a head cold and sore throat that started just before the super bowl, and I didn't even drink.  Thanks for spreading the wealth people!! ha ha

Ask Bryan about the Zoots.  Also, I believe he has discount codes for Zoot as well.

I have the adamo as well, it is the only seat I can use that doesn't cause massive pain, but it is a little bit wider seat which can rub on the sides.  I usually just go to the bike shop to set up.

OK everyone, great workout for me this morning, 1 hr bike followed by 45 min run (was supposed to do yesterday ...).  Felt pretty good although I had a hard time getting myself going.

Tomorrow is our weigh in.  Do it first thing in the morning before you jump in the shower.  Send me your weight and goal weight or just sent me your goal weight loss (in lbs).

Up early for a trainer ride.  Had to do another 30 minute TT.  I hate those.  5 mile run later this morninng.  I got in a decent swim last night.  Endurance isn't there and my form really starts to break down when I get fatigued.  I have so much work to do in the pool!

How would you describe your strategy for a flat bike course vs. a hilly one?

Swim and 5 miles of interval work on the treadmill that I skipped yesterday.  Trainer ride at lunch.  Good news is I held a 6 minute pace for my half mile intervals.  Damn near puked though.

I weighed less yesterday, darn!  I think my water retention is delayed one day from what Kelly said about Mondays.

I sent Carrie my weight loss goal (not weight).  My goal is to lose 20.6 pounds over the next 4 to 5 months, with the first 5 before the end of February.

I'm posting my food in my blog, as well as continuing with logging on Livestrong.

Same thing happened to me.  127.6 on Monday 128.2 on Tuesday.  And I KNOW I didn't eat any excess yesterday.  Oh well!
