I'm with you on Terro. SO YUM. Cam Brown ... YUUUUUUUM. BEVAN DOCHERTY AND KRIS GEMMELL ... oooooooh ... this is one of my fave triathlon vids EVER. I don't know why. It just is.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xo-nbnw8zSI

NO WAY! Dude, that is one badazz finish.  That was amazing. Now I want to run. I should get some video some time. Maybe throw in some eminem...Wink

Amazing. He looked like he was flying -- his feet were barely touching the ground. I run like that in my dreams.

Sorry you had a horrible day, Yanti. I hope things turn around quickly and that everyone stays safe and sound.

Thanks, Felicia.

One thing to be thankful for is that this can't by its nature be a long, drawn-out battle. One way or another the dust should settle within a few weeks. It's just that Murphy's Law governs these things as much as Newton's do classical physics, and June is Hell Month for both my sister and I in terms of work, events, and commitments.

Any thoughts for soundness and safety are appropriate and appreciated.

For serious. Remember when my SUP flew off my car last year (and ripped my bike rack off)?

Once, I ripped 2 bikes, and the car rack they were attached to, from the top of my car because I was STUPID and drove under a low car port.  It has nothing to do with knots.  But your SUP flying off reminded me and just had to share.  Now that was a 7/10 day for me.  It's funny now, but it was NOT so funny then.  I'm going to go home and practice my bowline now. ...what?!

Ooooh a toofer! My boss did that not too long ago. She ripped off bike and rack also broke out the back window in her car.

Worst. Day. Ever.

Okay, not ever. But if Worst Day Ever is a 10, today was a solid 9.

I realize that the vast majority of the world's population would give their eyeteeth for my 9. And for the things that were good today ... I'd give my eyeteeth for too, if I had to, like love, food, and shelter.

I can handle things like disasters and international crises pretty well. But today was just on a whole different plane, out of the blue, and involved a deeply personal betrayal. I don't use the word "betrayal" lightly. It means that you harmed and continue to put one or more of my most loved ones in serious jeopardy.

Not an easily solved set of spaghetti-like matters, and unfortunately, it does involve some very sensitive and possibly dangerous politics. And that's actually the least worst thing about it.

For the good news, I felt well enough to get in a short bike and run in today. I felt horrible afterward, but then again, I felt horribler before. On the whole, it was probably better than strangling people. Maybe.

My prayers are with you, if that helps. And {{{{{Hugs}}}}} as well. I do so wish that peace and quiet would envelope you like a warm soothing blanket. Until it does, please know that we are thinking of you.

I second that--I even crawled out of my cave to say so!

Nothing much new in my neck of the woods, just training and working...and making two dee-lish dinners in a row--Last night it was pork spare ribs (form a local farm, I am trying to eat decent food...) with new potatoes and green beans (of course! Half from mom's garden and half from another local farm); tonight it was parmesan-herb encrusted tilapia with brown and wild rice plus, MORE green beans! nomnomnom...I wish I could cook like this always, I just don't have the time!

At work, I am getting 35 California Tiger Salamanders next Thursday! They are going to pretty much be entirely my responsibility as I am their "Species Champion" (said with great fanfare in a booming voice)Tongue out--really, it just means I try to get a program set up for them among multiple zoos...we shall see. Of course, in the meantime, I have been pulled out of my beloved reptile area SO MUCH in the past two weeks! (it happens tomorrow too...grrr.) They keep placing me in the carnivore area--don't get me wrong, I like those critters too, but if I am one of the "Primary Reptile Keepers", I would think I should be THERE, and none of the other Primary keepers get moved! It is rather annoying--mainly cause then NOTHING gets done in reptile-land! UGH.

'nuff venting, overall, life is good, I am enjoying my training, and I have another sprint in a few weeks.Smile

Tripopo - 2012-06-13 5:59 AMAnn-Marie you are in Gallway? My favorite pub ever is there. It's called the Quays, on quay st, it's an awesome pub if you get a chance to hot it up. Are you going to the aran islands? Have a great time!
We are in a hotel on quay st, so I will definitely look for that pub. Thanks for the tip. I'm heading out to the Aran islands today - hoping for the beautiful weather we had yesterday for the Cliffs. Thanks!

So, when my son asked why he did it, I just said, "Because he loves me." Cry

You are a blessed lady, that is for sure. Enjoy the RV, and enjoy your husband. The swing of emotions that I get when I am catching up on this group can be pretty big.

So, yesterday I had another educational triathlon moment. Or at least a reminder. The amount of mental involved in this fairly physical endeaver is way more than I was prepared for when I started all this. It hit me after I got off the bike yesterday. I started running and soooo wanted to walk. So I "Cowboy'd Up" (as my relatives in Texas would say) and kept going. If nothing else happens this year from Tri's, I will get mentally tougher.

So decided to change up my plan and do my bike/run brick first since it was awesome outside, sunny and 80 when I started and mid 80s by the time I finished, and it kicked my A@@!  I had to walk a bunch of my run I'm guessing due to heat and only had about 40oz of water on the ride...  Summer is here in the south!  Swim is a maybe at this point, we'll see how I feel.

Awesome. Nice job, Kirk. Nothing wrong with walking! Especially when it's hot. Boy I am jealous. The weather here is below average and average isn't even that good. Ah well. Maybe summer will visit, soon.

Ditto.  I wish I had to walk on some of my workouts.  Apparently we have only had 52 hours of sunshine so far in June and it has been one of the coldest on record.  I'd be just happy with a string of dry days for heaven's sake.
