Oh Cord, I like to gamble as much as I like to have sex!  They both give me the rush!

I never really got into gambling like that. I have friends that LOVE it for the rush the possibility of the money they can win where I just think of what I could spend that money on besides giving it away.

I like blackjack, but rarely, if ever play. I know how they built those places and it's not with my cash! I do go to the casino often for the restaurants and shows though.

Ya I will give like $40 and can play blackjack for an hour or two with that but if I loose it I'm done. Even if I won the lotto I couldn't see me tossing down big cash.

Speaking of the lottery... I stopped for coffee this morning and decided to pick up lottery tickets. The guy at the counter said "I assume you're old enough for what you are purchasing?"

Yes. For 9 years. Is it good to look like you're 17?

Yea I got carded for an R-rated movie last year. I was 32. I'm like really? Do I seriously look 17???
I think the ticket taker kids were just bored.

So my cable box went out last night.....and I lost every DVR'd show on it. Including cycling, Prefontane, IM Kona replay, all of my daughters "go to" shows and movies.....and a crap ton of shows/series we recorded.

For my pain and suffering, I got a $85 credit on the next bill and a years worth of 10mps internet speed.

It's the 4th time in 7 years that this has happened.

AT&T Uverse.

Can't complain about the service/programming....

Rumor has it that they're working on cloud based technology for DVR programming....which would have been really helpful YESTERDAY!

I've had Uverse for 3 years now and no problems at all. Did you record any Cowboys games because maybe the box is just committing suicide?

I feel your pain.  I've had 2 DVR box's just die.  I had a seasons worth of 2 series on there .. most I had yet to watch.  I lost all my favorite "go to" shows.  I was so mad because my best friend's mom didn't have a DVR box or cable and only has a tiny TV ... so I had recorded all the Glee episodes so she could watch, and rewatch, her grandson, who was on the show, on the my big TV.  The death of the box occurred the day before she was going to come over and watch them all.     Damn Comcast.  I too got a credit and a new box.

My wife's boss's BIL is on the show. He hangs a lot in town when they're not filiming and holiday's and such. He's the kid in the wheelchair so a lot of people don't recognize him when he's actually walking around.

But yeah....don't have any idea what I'm doing to the box. And....it's not Cowboys or Longhorn games cuz real fans watch them live not record them.

I did record a "Year in Review" for the Bears. It showed a lot of fumbles, losses, players getting busted by the Feds, and drunks in the stands. Maybe that caused it.

Me too! I'm just happy to be getting carded at my advanced age.

We went to an adult shop to buy a gag gift for my friend Petey Poohbear the other night and they carded us. But I think they card everybody across the board there.

At my age I figure he is just trying to get a better tip by being slick and I'm not big on being lied to even when it's a nice lie.

Bartenders ...like strippers .. will flatter your azz up for more tips.  Don't fall for their charms and flattery.  Ha!  I have a friend that was a stripper and a bartender and the things she told me the girls would do (not sexual stuff, more like hang out with or act like they liked the guys) for a buck was quite clever and deceiving!

i have waitressed in my life and i'm well aware.  and i don't care.  fake-card away!  at the end of the day, that bartender is still giving the customer what she wants!

I hate gambling, except for poker, which I don't completely consider gambling.

For ME, the joy of winning a couple hundred bucks is small compared to being upset about LOSING a couple hundred.  The reward vs risk is not worth it to me.

Win 100?  I'm "meh" that's kind of cool.  Lose 100?  I'm sick to my stomach thinking of what I could have gotten with that cash and knowing I have to work a 2 hours just to get it back (3, after taxes).
